PDPRINT option

Beginning in version 7.52.00, two different methods can be used to send PDF documents to printers from Rx-Universe.

Which option to use is set by a new option on the System Settings, General tab:

When checked, Rx-Universe will use PDPRINT.EXE (also distributed under license as part of version 7.52.00) to send PDF documents to printer queues. If not checked, Rx-Universe will use PDFPRINT.EXE to perform the same function, which is the program that has been used for many years. Note that if the lab is using any api endpoints which require printing (such as printing the Shippo label), the PDPRINT option must be used, as PDFPRINT does not support printing to server print queues.

Incorrect Shading when using PDPRINT and PCL or PCI work tickets

When using the PDPRINT option with PCL or PCI work tickets, in some cases the shading will appear as large dots instead of shading:

This is caused by the printer driver itself; in one specific case, using a Konica bizhub 223 printer, we have two different drivers installed:

Both point to the exact same physical printer (as can be seen from the IP address above). The first driver (labeled PCL) renders the shading as shown above. The second driver renders the shading, for the same job, as follows:
