Introduction
This document provides instructions for defining the station numbers and descriptions used to track coating baskets and to define the number of lenses allowed in each basket. Once the station numbers and description are defined, you must also set up the actual basket range information. Thus, setting up a system for basket tracking is a multi-step process, as identified below.
Procedure
Rules
When setting up the system for basket tracking, remember these rules:
- When setting up basket names, the names should be Optifacts standards.
- When defining basket ranges:
- ALL numbers must be unique (must not be identical to tray range).
- The numbers must be consecutive.
- When setting up lens count settings, you must define a low and high range.
- You can define up to 5 ranges.
The Master Station and Sub-Master Station numbers used in this procedure must have already been set up in the Master Station Setup area of the software before you attempt this procedure. If not done, refer to the Master & Sub-Master Station Setup document.
Custom Configurations
From the Optifacts main menu:
Select Option 3 – Editor Utilities and press Enter.
Select Option 6 – Configuration Editor and press Enter.
Select Option 6 – Edit Custom Configuration and press Enter.
The Custom Configuration Editor displays.
- Press “Q” to Query to ensure that the tables below exist.
If the tables do not exist:
- Press “A” to add a new record.
- Enter all the information applicable to your lab, as shown in the examples below.
Caution
*** Be sure to enable these configurations, or the basket tracking feature will not function correctly. ***
Press Escape to save the data.
Press "E" to exit.
Tracking Coating Baskets
Basket Tracking requires a minimum of 4 entries in the Custom Configuration Editor. These four entries work together to track groups of lenses as they progress through the coating systems together in baskets. The four entries are:
BASKET ACCOUNT
BASKET RANGE LOW
BASKET RANGE HIGH
BASKET LENS COUNT
BASKET ACCOUNT
Caution
*** Be sure the account names you use are not already in use. ***
This entry is required, so the customer service staff members can have an account number that they can specify in Quick Look-up of job track to view the status of the coating baskets.
The Customer Database Editor must have an account set up that matches this account number. The account can be for internal purposes only and can be put on credit hold, so no jobs get run by mistake.
- Enter the account number in the Character Setting field.
BASKET RANGE LOW and BASKET RANGE HIGH
Define a group of basket numbers that are unique to the baskets used in the coating process.
*** WARNING: You cannot allow tray numbers in the lab that have the same number as the baskets in the coating centers. ***
*** Field Name: Use this field to define each category of basket types and basket ranges. Remember, when defining a range, you must define a low and a high range. The numbers between the low and high ranges will be consecutive. ***
The examples shown below allow baskets between 50 and 75 (both settings are inclusive).
- Enter the range number in the Integer Setting.
BASKET LENS COUNT
Once the basket types and ranges are defined, you must define a lens count field that identifies the number of lenses you want to include in the coating baskets.
- Enter the number of lenses you want to contain in each designated basket type in the Integer Setting field.
The basket assignment procedure will allow only up to this number of lenses in any one basket.
The following example will allow 30 lenses per basket:
Station Setup
From the Optifacts Main Menu:
Select Option 7 – Tray Track and press Enter.
Select Option 12 - Tray Track Configuration and press Enter.
Select Option 2 - Sub-Master Station Number setup and press Enter.
The Tray Track Sub-Master Station Number Setup screen displays.
- Enter the information as shown in the diagram below.
- Master and Sub-master numbers may vary by lab. Check with your administrator to acquire the correct numbers to use.
- The Station Description MUST match the description as it appears below.
- Press Escape to save the data.
- Press “E” to exit.
Station Assignment
From the Optifacts Main Menu:
Select Option 7 – Tray Track and press Enter.
Select Option 7 – Station Assignment and press Enter
The Station Assignment screen displays.
- Enter the station number for the station you have named BASKET ASSIGNMT.
- Enter the number of the basket that you would like to fill with lenses.
The program will repeatedly ask for tray numbers with lenses to coat until the basket count is reached or until you press Escape.
- Enter or scan the first tray number you want to assign to this basket.
As each basket is scanned or typed, the tray’s contents display in a list on the right side of the screen.
- Repeat the step above until you have assigned the desired trays to the basket to reach the maximum basket lens count identified on the screen.
When the basket lens count is reached, the “Basket is fully loaded. Touch Escape to Continue” prompt displays.
- Press Escape until you return to the Optifacts Main Menu.
To view the contents of the baskets you just assigned, perform one of the following procedures:
- Go to Quick Lookup and enter the predefined account number for basket tracking to view history on the desired trays.
- Or, look up the tray by the account number.
Multiple Basket (1-5) and Lens Count Ranges (1-5)
Some coating centers have baskets of different sizes for different operations. We allow up to 5 basket sizes for any lab.
The following example could allow two sets of baskets, the first ten baskets numbered between 50 and 59 allow up to 20 lenses per basket. The next set is smaller baskets and only allows 15 lenses each.
*** The basket numbers in specific ranges must fall within the overall range specified by BASKET RANGE LOW and BASKET RANGE HIGH (e.g., 50 and 59 below fall between the original specification above of 50 and 75). ***
Examples
BASKET RANGE LOW 1 50
BASKET RANGE HIGH 1 59
BASKET LENS COUNT 1 20
BASKET RANGE LOW 2 60
BASKET RANGE HIGH 2 69
BASKET LENS COUNT 2 15
