Printers

In Rx-Universe you will require a printer for your reporting, work tickets, and standard invoice format.  Our printing requirements are very simple - we can print to any printer that is either connected directly to a Workstation(USB) or to a network printer that is also installed locally on the workstation. Rx-Universe will use the windows local print queue, so as long as the printer can be printed to by Windows on the workstation, Rx-Universe will be able to print to it. We do recommend a Laser Printer type due to its longevity and low cost of printing.

Bar Code Scanner

To scan a tray or lens from within a screen in Rx-Universe, any wedge-style barcode scanner can be used.  Wedge-style scanners put the scanned barcode right into the keyboard buffer (the scan appears on the screen just as if it had been typed on the keyboard).

For job tracking purposes, where a scanner is to be connected to a serial port, allowing scanning of trays with just a scanner (no computer nearby), you will need to use the Symbol LS2208, click here for more information → Symbol LS2208
