Remote Thin Client Setup
OMICS Software Inc. assumes no responsibility nor will it provide support, configuration & maintenance on the proposed infrastructure below.Â
The information given below is only intended as general guidance on "how to" install and configured this remote Thin Client.
With RX-Universe it is possible to have a Thin Client session connecting from a remote offsite location via the Internet. It most cases this will require the involvement of the clients local IT provider to help with this.
Some client may require VPN (Virtual Private Network) Tunnel to meet their current security compliances, if so they will need to consult with their current IT provider for the best VPN solutions.Â
If VPN is not necessary we can get a remote thin client configured to access via Internet Protocol using specific port communication. (Note: This will also still require the end client to consult with their current IT provider to setup this.)
Â
Requirements:
- A Public Static IP Address or alternatively a Dynamic DNS Service that automatically updates to the Public IP (ie:WWW.DYNDNS.ORG)
- A Static IP Address on the RX-Universe Server
- Configuration of the Firewall/Router in both location to allow inbound and outboubd traffic & port forwarding port# 5640 to the IP of the RX-Universe Server
- Also if applicable open Incoming & Outgoing traffic on Firewall or the RX-Universe Server
Â
Â
In the example below we are assuming that the Public IP provided by the ISP is "142.166.201.203" and that the RX-Universe Server is setup on a static IP of "192.168.1.50"
