The Nebula Digital Calculator is available in Rx-Universe beginning with version 7.26.00.

The Nebula designs are available in a file called NEBULA.CSV, imported as with other digital designs from the Digital Type screen for Nebula.

Some specific notes on Nebula:

  1. While Nebula claims to decenter designs, testing showed little decentration is, in fact, calculated. Therefore, it is recommended to set up Nebula Designs with the “Center Design on Frame” checkbox NOT checked.

  2. Nebula DOES support BRS requests

  3. Nebula DOES support calculation of uncuts with no frame data. In this case, decentration is sent in the BCERIN and BCERUP tags.

  4. Nebula DOES support feasibility checks; when feasibility is requested, Rx-Universe will send DOSDF=N and DOSDL=B|L|R in the LDS file (one value for DOSDL corresponding to the eye(s) that are being checked).

  5. For bifocal designs, the location of the segment is specified relative to the center of the frame, and the center of the blank, using BCSGIN and BCSGUP.
