Hardware/Platform Requirements

Rx-Universe has the option to be run in a Stand Alone scenario where a single PC will be used for Order Entry, Calculation, Production & Device communication. This type of installation will generally be used in Micro Labs or Finishing Labs.

For larger labs, we recommend the multi-workstation system. With this installation, you will require a centralized server where multiple workstations will be connecting to the server via your local network (TCP/IP). Please note that you will also need multi-workstation if you intend on using Rx-Site remote order system.

For all installations, Rx-Universe uses Java to produce reports, documents, and some graphical displays.  The Rx-Universe server, and any workstations, will require either Java or OpenJDK to be installed and configured on each computer.  Additionally, a computer will require a PDF viewer in order to view PDF reports.  The lab should install their choice of Java or OpenJDK and their preferred PDF viewer on each computer that will be running Rx-Universe.

Disk Write Caching should be disabled on the Rx-Universe host system OS to prevent issues with data being written to files out of order.
