Check For Possible Duplicate Orders

Beginning in version 7.19.00, the lab can choose to have possible duplicate orders highlighted during manual creation of orders.
Two check-boxes have been added to the Orders1 tab of "System Settings":
If the "Check for possible duplicate orders by acct/patient" option is checked, possible duplicates with other in-process (active) orders will be indicated during manual order entry. A possible duplicate is an Rx order with the same account and patient name. If the option "Check completed orders for duplicates" is checked, orders already completed will be included in the check for duplicates. In all cases, only orders within the past 90 days are considered when looking for possible duplicates.
In Order Entry, after entering the patient name, if possible duplicate(s) are found, a screen will be displayed showing up to 4 possible duplicate orders:
