Ordering Lenses through Opticom
Firewall Requirements - Active ftp
Rx-Universe can use either active ftp or passive ftp to send orders to Opticom. As of October 2018, firewall requirements have changed in order to transmit to Opticom's ftp server using active ftp.
In the lab's firewall, ensure that all TCP ports are open for incoming communication from IP 65.52.204.137.
In Windows Firewall:
- Create a new inbound rule (Inbound Rules, New Rule)
- Select "port", click "Next"
- Select "TCP" and "All local ports", click "Next"
- Choose "Allow the connection" and click "Next"
- Enter a description and click "Next"
- Double-click on the new rule that was created:
- Click on the "Scope" tab, and change the Remote IP Address to be 65.52.204.137, as shown below. This restricts opening all incoming TCP ports to just connections from Opticom.
Transmitting using Passive ftp
If problems are encountered using active ftp to send to Opticom, beginning in version 7.14.00, the lab can trigger Rx-Universe to use passive ftp instead.
On the Inventory tab in System Settings, check the checkbox labeled "Use passive FTP".
