Introduction
This document provides instructions for setting up a feed to the promised jobs report in your internet browser. A Promised Job is any job where the time needed changed from the default. That is how the system recognizes a promised job from any other on the system. This can be done in Order Entry or Optifacts Menu options 7-3 Customer Service.
Procedure
1. Ask your system administrator to make a directory /var/www/html/lab_htm. Link it to $CWD/lab_htm:
ln -s /var/www/html/lab_htm $CWD/lab_htm
2. Administrator to make a directory /var/www/html/RSS. Link it to $CWD/RSS:
ln -s /var/www/html/RSS $CWD/lab_RSS

- Right-click on the feed for Promise_jobs and then click Properties. Set the archive number to 3 so we don’t keep too many copies of recent updates on the system:
- Also, click on Settings under Update Schedule. Change to 15 minutes under “Automatically check feeds and Web Slices for updates.” Doing so will ensure that your browser regularly checks for updates.
