Introduction

This document provides instructions for using the short-hand order Rx Entry capability in Rx Order Entry

Procedure

From the Optifacts main menu:

Select Option 4 - Order Entry and press Enter.

The Tray & Account window displays.

  • At any time within this window, press the F5 function key.

The Command-Line Rx Entry window displays.

  • Begin typing, and the system will capture and assign values according to the legend at the bottom of the window. The system will default to right-eye values first, but you could type a lower case “l” or capital “L” to begin with left-eye values if you prefer.

For example, you could type:

l-1.25s-.5c66a to achieve the following results:

  • You can continue with Right eye values by continuing with typing “r” and values for the right eye:

r-1.75s

  • When done, press escape to continue with the order process.
  • When finished, press Escape continuing with the order process.

The entire command string that you’ve typed gets displayed at the bottom of the screen. In addition, the interpreted results of the command will get displayed above.  Type as many or as few of the values you’d like, then touch Escape and continue the order entry process.   The interpreted values will be used as defaults in the traditional order entry screen and validated when you pass through each field in the order entry process.   Note that there is no validation done at the time of command-line entry.

Marque-Teinte is a standard convention used in Europe to assign product descriptions.    It will use the commercial codes assigned in the Commercial Code Mapping editor of the Retail Transfer menu (11-15).   There is a document available named Retail Transfer – Commercial Code Mapping that explains this process.   Though it’s common in Europe, it can be equally effective in North America.

The Diameter field of this screen refers to a commercial diameter.   This diameter is typically used only in Europe, where commercial catalog diameters are assigned.   It does not refer to the blank diameter.   It will typically be of little or no value in North America, so you can ignore it if it doesn’t apply to you.
