ODBC Setup Instructions
To install the ODBC you need to Run the ODBC "setup.exe" located in the root of the RX-Universe folder (C:\RxUniverse\ODBC\Install). Please note that the "ACUODBC" product requires a licensing key that is available at a charge.
- Right click and select “Run as administrator”
- Click "Next" on the “InstallShield Wizard”
- In Folder Path change to the root in the RX-Universe folder
- Enter the ODBC License Code and Key (provided by Omics) and click Finish
- After the ODBC software is installed launch “Microsoft Windows Control Panel” and click on “Administrative Tools” icon.
- Click on “ODBC Data Sources (32-bit)” icon
- Go to the “System DNS” Tab and click “Configure”
- In this windows you need to verify the “XFD” path and “Data” Path
- Click "OK" and follow instructions below to test the ODBC installation.
Testing ODBC Connection
- Launch Microsoft Excel (screenshots below are from Excel 2016), go to DATA tab and under “from other sources” choose “From Microsoft Query” Option
- Choose “Omics6*” and click “OK”
- The Query Wizard will launch and give the option of the data fields that can be imported and Select the tables you needed for your query and click "Next" (in this example we use:OMLENS)

- Click "Next", unless you require to Filter Data.
- Click "Next", unless you need to set the Order by
- Click "Finish"
- Query result will be populated in Excel indicating a successful ODBC setup.
ODBC Interface May Cause Slowdown
The ODBC interface may cause some slowdown on the server; these steps might help speed things up:
- Open the ODBC Data Source Administrator box.
- Go to the “Tracing Tab”.
- Click “Stop Tracing Now”.
- Go to the System DNS tab, and pick Omics6 and then “configure”.
- Open the “Tracing” tab and select “Stop All”.
