Setting Up Lens Designs using Import File

Starting in version 6.45.00, a new, more automated way of setting up all (or most) digital designs for a vendor has been introduced.

On the Digital Type screen, a new button:

When clicked, this brings the user to a new screen:

Clicking "Import CSV file" allows browsing to a folder to import a file containing information on the designs to be set up (format of the file is at the end of this page). Files are available for the most common sets of lens styles in each region for each digital vendor.  For example, to import a file called "ESSILOR.CSV", the user would browse to the folder, select that file, and import it:

The user will then see a list of all designs imported from the selected file, that are NOT already set up as digital designs for that vendor in Rx-Universe:

Because labs may be licensed for only some designs available from a vendor, individual designs can be selected and moved to the right column; the ">>" and "<<" buttons move all designs from one column to the other.

When all desired designs are selected, clicking "Go" will cause each design to be set up in the lens styles as a digital design for this vendor, with the appropriate LNAM and ENGMASK values, if applicable, and the correct digital settings, and will cause alias records to be automatically created for designs that require them; beginning with version 6.45.03, the lens style of the Alias item is set in the CSV file.

Format of CSV file

For the Essilor file above, the LNAM column is blank, because the LNAM is set by combination of design, material, color and treatment in the ESS or ESSL table.  ENGMASK is not typically used for Essilor designs, engraving is sent in the LMS file in the form of multiple ENGMARK records.

For the above sample Zeiss file, the LNAM is set (because it is the same for a design for all materials), the BRS option is set to trigger use of BRS request, and the ALIAS is set to "PUCK", which are the Zeiss donor blanks.
