Introduction

This document outlines the setup and procedure to run the invalid report. First, there is a custom configuration that would need to be enabled. When enabled, we record the job data on any job that fails as Invalid. We define Invalid as anything that needs to be looked at or reviewed:  Translation Failure, Pricing issues, Blank Selection, etc. This feature aims to separate the jobs that need looking into from those that can continue to go through the lab.

Procedure

Custom Configuration

From the Optifacts Main Menu:

Select Option 3 – Editor Utilities and press Enter.

Select Option 6– Configuration Editor and press Enter.

Select Option 6 – Custom Configuration and press Enter.

  • Press “Q” to Query the table.
  • Enter some search criteria in any of the fields.
  • Press Escape to perform the search.

If the table does not exist:

  • Press “A” - Add a new record.
  • Enter all the information as required. (Refer to the field definitions below)
  • Press Escape to save the data.
  • Press “E” to exit the screen.

Invalid Report

This screen lists all Invalid jobs. You can edit jobs right from the screen. For example, based on the prompts, the lab can have someone work on the translation failures, and another person works on pricing failures, etc. (You can run it for a select invalid reason).

When the Jobs display on the screen, you may notice a shortened version of the Invalid reason (again, this is because of limited space on the screen). By hitting the “M” key, we bring up a window with more detail, including more information about why the job was invalid. If you hit the “?” on the first window, you will see the commands currently allowed.

Another command is “E” (edit). The edit feature switches the user over to the order entry screen as if they recall the job.

From the Optifacts main menu:

  • Select Option 5 – Report Generators and press Enter.
  • Select Option 11– Invalids and press Enter.
  • Select Option 2 – Invalid Report and press Enter.

The following is an example of the report printed on the screen:
