Introduction

This document covers adding a frame trace to the trace/frame library. This procedure does not link the record to Frame Inventory. Please refer to the Link a Trace from Frame Library to Frame Inventory document if you also need to link a trace to Frame Inventory. (not via layout)  Click here to view the Attach Trace to Frame Inventory from Order Entry document,

This procedure is especially useful for VCA (oma) format tracing that contains drill point data for rimless frames.

Procedure

Store Trace

From the Optifacts main menu:

Select Option 3 - Editor Utilities and press Enter.

Select Option 2 - Frame Database Editor and press Enter.

Select Option 7 - Store Trace in Library and press Enter.

The Store Trace Data in Trace Library screen displays.

  • Enter the tray number to which the trace is associated. (This process will not remove the trace from the system.)

Identify the tracing format you would like to store. For example, Gerber and OMA are most common, and OMA allows storing drill point data for rimless frames.

  • Select your option and press Enter.

  • Enter the information related to the frame: the frame name, Mfr, and the frame type associated with the tracing.

  • After selecting the frame type, you get prompted to input the marked Frame A, DBL, and other information. If you want to edge from this stored tracing, you should begin any comment with the word EDGE.
  • Press Enter and get notified the tracing was stored.

  • Press Enter, and you return to the tray number field, where you can enter a new tray number to store another trace.
  • If you have no more trace files to store, press Escape to exit this menu.

No Trace Available

If there is no trace associated with the tray, you will see the following message. Return the tray to production to get it traced.
