  • Press Escape, to save the data.
  • Press “E” to exit the screen.

Now you may proceed to set up the CBT screens:

CBT Setup

From the Optifacts main menu:

Select Option 3 - Editor Utilities and press Enter.

Select Option 14 - Commercial Brand Editor and press Enter.

The Commercial Branding (CBT) Menu is displayed.

Step 1 - CBT Name

Select Option 1 - CBT Master Editor and press Enter.

The Commercial Brand Master Editor window is displayed.

  • Press “A” to add a new record.

An entry in this table is required for every CBT lens.

  • Enter the CBT name to describe the lens name or design.
  • Enter the CBT family to describe the family name where you can group familiar lenses.
  • Add any comments if desired.
  • Enter the calculation engine if applicable.
  • Press Escape to save the data.
  • Press “E” to exit.

Examples: Notice in the following two diagrams that two lens designs are using the same family.

Step 2 - Order Entry Parameters

From the Commercial Branding (CBT) Menu:

Select Option 2 - CBT Order Entry Editor and press Enter.

The Commercial Branding Order Entry Control Editor is displayed.

  • Press “A” to add a new record.
  • Enter the Commercial Brand Name.

The Commercial Brand Name must be an exact match to the name created in the CBT Master Editor.

  • Enter all the other required fields.

If a field is left blank, the system looks at all codes described by the field name. Along with the Commercial Brand Name, some of the usual fields to enter are Lens Type Code, Lens Color/Coat Coat, and Lents Material Code.

  • Press Escape to save the data.
  • Press “E” to Exit.

Example: Notice that in the following diagram, there are 44 rows for one design name. That is because each material and color available for that lens design has an entry. If you entered this particular lens design and left the material and, or color fields blank, then all materials and, or colors in the database would show up in order entry, causing issues if the material and or color does not exist. By narrowing down the materials and or colors, then the order entry operators would only be able to select those specified in this table. Something to remember in this case is that every time a new material and or color becomes available, you need to add it so that order entry can see it in the selection list.

Step 3 - Job Data Triggers

The field names must be defined in the Job Data Definition Table (Menu 3-6-7). Refer to the Job Data Definitions and Triggers section from the User Documentation Index for details on setting up definitions and triggers. Order Entry will be prompted to enter the required job data.

From the Commercial Branding (CBT) Menu:

Select Option 3 - CBT Job Data Fields Editor and press Enter.

The Commercial Branding Job Data Triggers window displays.

  • Press “A” to add a new record.
  • Enter the Commercial Brand Name.

The Commercial Brand Name must be an exact match to the name created in the CBT Master Editor.

  • Enter all the other required fields.
  • Press Escape to save the data.
  • Press “E” to Exit.

Examples: Notice that in the first diagram that the entry is specific to material TLT, but the second diagram applies to the same lens design for all materials. (Material code field is blank).

Here are a few more examples of job data triggers. There are various CBT Job Data Triggers. This document may not contain the full list of available options. Please contact Optifacts Support as others may be needed.

Step 4 - Field Validations

Use field validations to define restrictions for the specified lens design, materials and, or colors.

From the Commercial Branding (CBT) Menu:

Select Option 4 - CBT Field Validation Editor and press Enter

The Commercial Branding Field Validation Editor window is displayed.

  • Press “A” to add a new record.
  • Enter the Commercial Brand Name. The Commercial Brand Name must be an exact match to the entry in the CBT Master Editor.
  • Enter all the other required fields.
  • Press Escape to save the data.
  • Press “E” to Exit.

Examples: Notice that in the first diagram, there is a sphere power restriction of -10.00 to 6.00 for type VXY material P, but in the second diagram, the sphere power restriction is -12.00 to 8.00 for the same lens type VXY with material TL.

Step 5 - Invoice Mapping

Use invoice mapping to define how you want to represent specific fields on the printed invoice.

From the Commercial Branding (CBT) Menu:

Select Option 5 - CBT Invoice Mapping Editor and press Enter.

The Invoice Commercial Branding Editor window is displayed.

  • Press “A” to add a new record.
  • Enter the Priority Number and press Enter.

The priority number represents the hierarchy in which the system looks at matching records.

  • Enter the Account Number “0” (zero to represent all accounts) and press Enter.
  • Enter the Commercial Brand Name. The Commercial Brand Name must be an exact match to the entry in the CBT Master Editor.
  • Enter all the other required fields.

Data on the left side (incoming fields) represents what gets entered, and data on the right side (Invoice representation) indicates what prints on the invoice.

  • Press Escape to save the data.
  • Press “E” to Exit.
