Personalization Options

Some lens designs either require, or optionally accept, certain options that are not traditionally part of an Rx.  This might include the height of the patient, what type of lifestyle the patient wants their glasses for, the distance to a near or intermediate viewing point, etc.

These "personalization options" are configured for specific lens styles in the lens style setup. On the lens style screen, the tab called "Optional Fields" shows the personalization options that are available.  For example, the Varilux S 4D design allows several of these options to be specified, and requires a couple. The configuration for the Varilux S 4D would be:

For each optional field (personalization option) that is checked, that will activate the field on the F12 screen in order entry.  Some fields allow a default to be set for the lens style, and all fields allow the field to be defined as "mandatory", meaning a value must be entered for an order using that lens style.

On the F12 screen in OE, the Optional tab allows entry of the fields defined for the lens style.  For example, an order entered with the above VS4D lens style would show the following on the Optional tab in F12:
