This document provides instructions for setting up Lens Combos in your system.
Procedure
Lens Combo Setup
From the Optifacts Main Menu:
Select Option 3 – Editor Utilities and press Enter.
Select Option 3 – Lens Database Editor and press Enter.
Select Option 7 – Lens Combo Entry and press Enter.
The following screen is displayed.
- Would you like to Add, Edit, or Remove a lens combo <A/E/R>?
- Press “A” to add an entry.
- Press “E” to edit an entry.
- Press “R” to delete an entry.
- Press Escape to exit.
The following screen is displayed when adding an entry.
- Enter the following information
- Account Number – either specific or “0” for all accounts
- Ship-To Code – only needed if a specific account gets entered
- Combo Group Name – the name of a group of similar packages
- Combo Name – the full name of the combo package
- Trallar Name – this is the name that goes into the trallar file
- Transfer Code Name – this is the code that Vision-Web or any other portal will send in-between the XML tags on a transfer job
- Indust/Dress/Both – which type of lens gets used for this combo
- Lens Style Code – the style code of the lens
- Lens Type Code – the lens type code
- Color Code – the lens color code
- Material Code – the lens material code
Add Lite-ups or Calculation Options
After the primary combo information is loaded, you can now add either lite-ups or calculation options for this combo.
- Press “Y” to add a lite-up.
- Enter either “L” for lite-up or “C” for the calculation option
- Enter the num and bit of lite-up or the calculation option number. In our example below, we added a lite-up. The lite-up name will appear below if you enter a num and bit that exists.
- Turn Lite-Up On – have the lite-up turn on or off for this package
- Allow Operator to Edit – if “Y,” the operator can turn on or off the lite-up, and it won’t kick them out of the combo package. If “N,” the operator can’t touch the lite-up unless they want to kick the job out of the combo package.
Now you are done with this combo. You can add another one or exit out. After at least one combo has been entered, you can run one through Order Entry.
Order Entry
- Return to the main menu.
- Select Option 4 - Order Entry and press Enter.
- Enter the information the same as you would in the first section. After you press Enter at the patient name, the lens combo box will appear.
- Enter “0” to skip lens combo and add a regular job, “1” to pick a combo by group name then by combo name, or “2” to enter the combo name directly. In our example below, we select option 1.
- Next, select which Lens Combo you want to use. In our example, we chose option 2.
- Enter the number of the Lens Combo Group name.
The example below shows that we only have one lens combo under this group name. We chose option 1.
Next, you can add an uncut flag to the job.
- Enter “Y” to add the uncut flag.
- Enter “N” to make the job edged.
It places the style code letter “P” for progressive in the style field of Order Entry.
In the blank information section, the type, color, and material codes are populated as specified in the Lens Combo setup.
If you try to change the style code, type code, color code, material code, calc option, or lite-up, you see a message asking if you want to do this.
- Press “Y,” and you will get kicked out of the combo package. The job will run as a regular job.
- Press “N,” and it will change back to the combo entry, and you can continue to enter the job.
