Introduction

This document provides instructions for adding, editing,  or deleting equipment using the equipment configuration screen.

Procedure

From the Optifacts main menu:

Select Option 3 – Editor Utilities and press Enter.

Select Option 6 – Configuration Editor and press Enter.

Select Option 18 – Edit Equipment Configuration and press Enter.

The following screen is displayed.

Equipment Matrix Table

Refer to the field definitions below for details on each field.

Device Name - Text field 25 characters in length

Bevel Position -  if “Y”  sends the value in the BEVP field

Bevel C/M -  if BEVP = 3, then this value goes into the BEVC field

                        if BEVP= 1, 2, or 5, then this value goes into the BEVM field

Back Pin Bevel -  if “Y”  sends value in the PINB field

Front Pin Bevel -  if “Y” sends value in the FPINB field

Polish Mode -  if “Y” sends value in the POLISH field

Groove Depth -  if “Y” sends value in the GDEPTH field

  • If groove Depth “Y” sends groove width value into the GWIDTH field

Groove Edge -  if “Y” checks the ETYP field for a value of 3 and changes to a value of 2

  • Change groove job to rimless if edger cannot handle the groove value.

Drill Edge -  if “Y” checks the ETYP field for a value of 3 and changes to a value of 2

  • Also, it will put “?” in the DRILL and DRILLE fields if any found

Gen Safety Bevel -  if “Y” sends value in the SBEV field

Two Eye Send -  if “Y” sends both right and left eye tracings if both are available.

  • The default in the oma program is only to send the right eye tracing.

Digital File -  if “Y” sends the digital file to the machine. 1-PRA Blk, 2-HSC Gen or 3-VFT Gen

FCS Directory Name - Enter the name of the FCS directory to check for files.

Number Trc R Point -  Enter a specific number of tracing radii for this machine.

  • Enter 0 for Optifacts default. TRCFMT field.

Number Trc Z Point -  Enter a specific number of tracing z points for this machine.

  • Enter 0 for Optifacts default. ZFMT field.

Lens Mat ID -  if “Y” sends LMATID=?;?

  • If “T” uses the table to find the correct LMATID to send for the job

Enter past the last field on the screen above, and you will see the following screen.

Tracer Offsets – Enter “Y” if you want to set a tracer offset value

C-Size – Enter the value to adjust the printed value of FCS Edger Circumference on the work ticket

DBL – Enter the value for the DBL offset used in calculations

Eye to Run – Enter “Y” if you want a specific eye only at this machine

Value – Enter “R” right eye, “L” left eye, or “B” for both

Tracing Format – Enter “Y” if you want to set the trace format value

Value – Enter the trace format to force equipment either 1 or 3

Equipment Matrix Detail Table:

Once proceeding past the above screens, you see the following:

  • Do you want to Add, Edit, or Delete?
    • Enter “A” to add a new entry
    • Enter “E” to edit an existing entry
    • Enter “D” to delete an entry.
  • Do you want to Add or Edit by group name?
    • Enter “N” to add or edit by specific fields
    • Enter “Y” to add or edit by group name

By Specific Fields

If Group Name = “N,” then you see the following screen:

Lens Material Code -  The material code of the job

Block Ring Diameter -  Enter a specific value, or you can use 0.00 as a default

AR Coating -  Enter “Y’ for AR coated jobs only, “N” for non-AR coated jobs, or “B” for both

  • (This checks for the AR field in the oma file connected to the “OMA AR GROUP NAME” cust_cfg record)

STK Lens -  Enter “Y” for finished only, “N” for semi-finished only, or “B” for both

Polaroid Lens – Enter “Y” for polaroid only, “N” for non-polaroid only, or “B” for both

Industrial Lens – Enter “Y” for industrial only, “N” for dress only, or “B” for both

Cross Curve > -  Enter a specific value, or you can use 0.00 as a default

  • (Uses the value GCROS from the oma file)

Prism Amount – Enter a specific value, or you can use 0.00 as a default

Blank Edge Thick – Enter a specific value, or you can use 0.00 as a default

Decentration - Enter a specific value, or you can use 0.00 as a default

Lens Material ID Number -  This is the value that will get sent in the LMATID field if everything is correct

Edger Pressure (EPRESS) – Pressure applied to lens against edger wheels 

  • 0 – Undefined 
  • 1 – Very Fragile
  • 2 - Soft Pressure 
  • 3 – Medium Pressure 
  • 4 - Hard Pressure

By Group Name

If Group Name = “Y,” then you see the following screen:

Lens Material Code -  The material code of the job

Priority Number – Enter the priority number

Group Name – Enter the Group Name

Lens Material ID Number -  This is the value that will get sent in the LMATID field if everything is correct

Edger Pressure (EPRESS) – Pressure applied to lens against edger wheels 

  • 0 – Undefined 
  • 1 – Very Fragile
  • 2 - Soft Pressure 
  • 3 – Medium Pressure 
  • 4 - Hard Pressure
