Transfer Orders Using a Job Tracking Station

Rx-Universe allows a lab to transfer an order to another lab by scanning the order to a specific job tracking station that has been configured for transfer. This provides an easy way for labs to transfer individual jobs, without having to set up the rules for transfer, or to transfer one-off jobs due to capacity or equipment issues.

There are two steps to set this up:

Set up the remote lab that the job is to go to
Set up the job tracking station

Set up a remote lab

For the purposes of this documentation, we'll consider a remote lab set up as follows. The transfer method is "local", which means a file will be created in the folder indicated by "Local path". Other options for transfer include ftp and VisionWeb, as well as the AcuServer option if sending the order to another Rx-Universe or OMICS lab that is using AcuServer.

Set up the job tracking station

When setting up the job tracking station to use, set the "Identifier" drop-down to "Out to Lab", and the "Transfer To" drop-down to the desired destination. In the following example:

The destination lab is set to lab 001, Acme Lab. If Acme Lab is set up as in the example above (under "Set up a remote lab"), then scanning a job to station 002 will create a file in C:\transfer containing information about the job.

The job tracker will create a file in c:\transfer with the following contents (the filename is 12345.Vnnnn 12345 comes from the "Lab Account #" of the remote lab, and nnnn is a sequential number for the file):
