Select regular and short progressives based on SEGHT

Rx-Universe can be set up to automatically select a regular or short progressive design, based on the SEGHT of the job.

There are two steps to this:
1. set up the designs with the appropriate minimum seg height

2. set up an alias record to go from the regular progressive to the short

An example will illustrate this. Consider a Shore ES (regular) progressive, and a Shore ESM (short) progressive.

Set up the ES progressive with a minimum segment height, say 20, and set the “Action” field to Y, which tells Rx-Universe to consider other designs if the entered seg height is less than 20mm.

Set up the ESM with the minimum seg height for that design, and set the Action field to “E”, so that Rx-Universe will throw an error if a segment height of less than the specified value is entered:

Next, an alias entry must be set up in order for Rx-Universe to consider the short design when a regular design is specified; in this example, the ES design must alias or “point to” the ESM, as follows:

When entering an order, only the ES design needs be specified; the choice of whether to use the regular corridor design or the short corridor design will be based on the SEGHT of the order. Consider the following example job:

When blank selection is done, Rx-Universe will automatically select the ESM design, since the SEGHT is less than the minimum for the ES design (minimum is 20):
