Introduction

This document provides instructions for running monthly Manufacturer Reports.

All the manufacturer reports now run from the Manufacturer Reports Menu. (Menu option 5-10-1). The reports no longer print or save to disk. Retrieve them to a local folder using WinSCP and e-mail them to the applicable manufacturer. (Refer to the WinSCP documentation for full instructions).

The Shamir report and the Essilor Digital report need to run BEFORE the month-end update is completed. Each manufacturer has a menu option, so you may be able to update the information to be included in the reports. Not all editing options are available at this time.

Procedure

From the Optifacts Main Menu:

Type 5 – Report Generators and press enter.

Type 10 – Custom Reports Menu and press enter.

Type 1 – Manufacturer Reports Menu and press enter.

The Manufacturer Reports Menu displays.

 *** Note: You must type 99 and press Enter to exit any of the Custom Report Menu Options. Pressing ESC (escape) is not functional within the Custom Report Menus. *** 

Zeiss Reports

There are 2 reports for Zeiss.  The first, Zeiss Expert Dividends report, is the same as before.  It creates and ORDER and RETAIL report.  The next is the Zeiss Redo Report.  Run this report if the lab is producing Zeiss Digital lenses.

Select Option 1 – Zeiss Report Menu from Manufacturer Report Menu.

The Zeiss Report Menu displays.

Zeiss Expert Dividends Report

To run the report, Select Menu Option 1 - Zeiss Expert Dividends Report from the Zeiss Report Menu. This report has run in the past. The sub-menu contains its editor screens.

  • Follow the on-screen prompts entering all the applicable report options.

Zeiss Color Editor

Select Option 2 - Zeiss Color Editor from the Zeiss Expert Dividends Menu. Use this editor to add new color codes to the report when adding Zeiss Coatings to the color codes.

  • Type A to add a new record.
    • The Report ID defaults to ZEISS, and editing that name is not allowed.
  • Add the color code and the name for the coating that Zeiss requests.
  • Press the ESC key to save the data.
  • Type E to exit the screen.

Zeiss Coating Editor

Select Option 3 - Zeiss Coating Editor from the Zeiss Expert Dividends Menu. Use this editor to add lite-ups for the Zeiss AR and Zeiss Hard coat lite-ups to match the Optifacts lite-up names. 

  • Type A to add a new record.
    • The Report ID defaults to ZEISS, and editing that name is not allowed.
  • Add the lite-up name and the name for the coating that Zeiss requests.
  • Press the ESC key to save the data.
  • Type E to exit the screen.

Zeiss Redo Report

To run the report, select Option 2 - Redo Report Menu from the Zeiss Reports Menu. This report is only for Zeiss Digital lenses produced in your lab.  If you need this report, call Optifacts.

  • To run the report, select Option 1 – Zeiss Redo Report from the Zeiss Redo Report Menu.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts entering all the applicable report options.

Zeiss Type Code Report Editor

Select Option 3 – Zeiss Type Code Report Editor from the Zeiss Reports Menu. Use this option to add type codes to the report. The report editor is already set up with the current requirements from Zeiss.  If they add additional types, use this option to add them. 

  • Type A to add a new record.
    • The Report ID defaults to ZEISS, and editing that name is not allowed.
  • Add the type code and the WORDING that Zeiss requests for the lens.
  • Press the ESC key to save the data.
  • Type E to exit the screen.

Zeiss Report Options Editor

Select Option 4 – Zeiss Report Options Editor from the Zeiss Reports Menu. Use this editor to add lite-ups to the report for redo jobs.  Lite-ups added for use in the Optifacts LMS for Zeiss AR coatings, Zeiss hard coatings, redo jobs, and jobs subbed out to another lab are set up here for reporting purposes. This table establishes the lite-up, and the previous tables provide the translations for these lite-ups to what Zeiss requests. 

  • Type A and press enter to add a new record.
    • The Report ID defaults to ZEISS, and you are not allowed to edit that name.
  • Add the applicable group in the Report As field. The list to the right side of the field is the groups required by Zeiss.
  • Add the lite-ups need to one of those groups. There may be more than one lite-up in a group. Make an entry for each lite-up separately.
  • Press the ESC key to save the date.
  • Type E to exit the screen.

Varilux Statistics Report

Select Option 2 – Varilux Statistics Report from the Manufacturer Reports Menu.  This report has run in the past. The sub-menu contains its editor screens.

  • To run the report, select Option 1 – Varilux Statistics Report from the Varilux Report Menu.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts entering all the applicable report options.

The report either prints or gets sent to a file depending on the report settings.  If it gets sent to a file and needs to be sent to the vendor electronically, it can be retrieved using WinSCP. Refer to the WinSCP documentation for full details on retrieving the report.

Varilux Report Editor

Select Option 2 – Varilux Report Editor from the Varilux Report Menu.  This editor controls the type code, CBT name, color code, and column settings of the report.

  • Type A to add a new record.
    • The Report ID defaults to, VARILUX and editing that name is not allowed.
    • Other fields in this table may also default.
  • Enter all applicable data, pressing enter past each field.
  • Press the ESC key to save the data.
  • Type E to exit the screen.

Varilux Report Options Editor

Select Option 3 – Varilux Report Options Editor from the Varilux Report Menu. Use this editor to add lite-ups to the report.

  • Type A to add a new record.
    • The Report ID defaults to VARILUX, and editing that name is not allowed.
    • Other fields in this table may also default.
  • Enter the lite-up name and press enter.
  • Press the ESC key to save the data.
  • Type E to exit the screen.

Transitions Sales Report

Select Option 3 – Transitions Sales Report from the Manufacturer Reports Menu. This report has run in the past. The sub-menu contains its editor screens.

  • To run the report, select Option 1 – Transitions Report from the Transitions Report Menu.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts entering all the applicable report options.

The report either prints or gets sent to a file depending on the report settings.  If it gets sent to a file and needs to be sent to the vendor electronically, it can be retrieved using WinSCP. Refer to the WinSCP documentation for full details on retrieving the report.

Transitions Report Options Editor

Select Option 2 Transitions Options Editor from the Transitions Report Menu. Use this editor to control the lite-ups included in the report.  A group can be added either as REDO or AR.  The pricing text is the exact wording of the lite-up for each group.  REDO would be all the lite-ups used to designate a job as a REDO, and the AR group would have all the lite-ups used for AR coatings.

  • Type A to add a new record. Or, if editing an entry, type U to update.
    • The Report ID field defaults to TRANSITIONS, and editing the name is not allowed.
  • Enter all applicable data, pressing enter past each field.
  • Press the ESC key to save the data.
  • Type E to exit the screen.

Seiko Monthly Report

Select Option 4 – Seiko Report Menu from the Manufacturer Reports Menu.

  • To run the report, select Option 1 – Seiko Monthly Report from the Seiko Report Menu.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts entering all the applicable report options.

Seiko Report Editor

Select Option 2 – Seiko Report Editor from the Seiko Report Menu. Use this editor to add type codes to the report.  When Seiko notifies you of new lenses that they want in the report, this is where to add them. 

  • Type A to add a new record. Or, if editing an entry, type U to update.
    • The Report ID field defaults to Seiko, and editing the name is not allowed.
  • Enter the type code and the name that Seiko requested, pressing enter past each field.
  • Press the ESC key to save the data.
  • Type E to exit the screen.

Seiko Report Options Editor

Select Option 3 - Seiko Report Options Editor from the Seiko Report Menu. Use this editor to add lite-ups to the report.  The Seiko report only includes REDO lite-ups.

Use the available report groups as shown to the right side of the ‘Report As’ field.  There is a SEIKO DIGITAL lite-up which should come on when you run a Seiko Digital lens.  Under the report group, would be the pricing text for the lite-up used.  The other groups are for redo jobs.  Add the lite-ups used to designate a job as a redo under the correct group.

  • Type A to add a new record. Or, if editing an entry, type U to update.
    • The Report ID field defaults to Seiko, and editing the name is not allowed.
  • Enter the type code and the name that Seiko requested, pressing enter past each field.
  • Press the ESC key to save the data.
  • Type E to exit the screen.

IOT Report Menu

Select Option 5 – IOT Report Menu from the Manufacturer Report Menu.

  • To run the report, select Option 1 – IOT Report from the IOT Report Menu.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts entering all the applicable report options.

IOT Report Editor

Select Option 2 – IOT Report Editor from the IOT Report Menu. This editor controls the type code, CBT name, color code, and column settings of the report.

  • Type A to add a new record.
    • The Report ID defaults to, IOT and editing that name is not allowed.
    • Other fields in this table may also default.
  • Enter all applicable data, pressing enter past each field.
  • Press the ESC key to save the data.
  • Type E to exit the screen.

IOT Report Options Editor

Select Option 3 – IOT Report Options Editor from the IOT Report Menu. Use this editor to add lite-ups to the report.

  • Type A to add a new record.
    • The Report ID defaults to VARILUX, and editing that name is not allowed.
    • Other fields in this table may also default.
  • Enter the lite-up name and press enter.
  • Press the ESC key to save the data.
  • Type E to exit the screen.

Shamir Report Menu

Select Option 6 - Shamir Report Menu from the Manufacturer Reports Menu. 

 ***This report must run before the month-end update. ***

  • To run the report, select Option 1 – Shamir Report from the Shamir Report Menu.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts entering all the applicable report options.

Shamir OPC Editor

Menu Option 2 – Shamir OPC Editor from the Shamir Report Menu is not available at this time. This table holds all of the OPC codes that Shamir has assigned to its product.

Shamir Options Editor

Menu Option 3 – Shamir Options Editor from the Shamir Report Menu. Use this editor to add lite-ups used to designate jobs as Redo, to the report.

  • Type A to add a new record.
    • The Report ID defaults to SHAMIR, and editing that name is not allowed.
    • Other fields in this table may also default.
  • Add the applicable group in the Report As field. The list to the right side of the field is the groups required by Shamir.
  • Add the lite-ups need to one of those groups. There may be more than one lite-up in a group. Make an entry for each lite-up separately.
  • Press the ESC key to save the data.
  • Type E to exit the screen.

Signet Report Menu

Select Option 7 - Signet Report Menu from the Manufacturer Report Manu.  Add new lenses and edit the table that holds the lite-ups included in the report.

  • To run the report, select Option 1 – Signet Report from the Signet Report Menu.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts entering all the applicable report options.

Signet Report Editor

Select Option 2 – Signet Report Editor from the Signet Report Menu. This editor allows you to add new lens types to the report. 

  • Type A to add a new record.
    • The Report ID defaults to SIGNET, and editing that name is not allowed.
    • Other fields in this table may also default.
  • Add the applicable Type Code and press enter.
  • Add the Type Code Name that Signet requested and press enter.
  • Press the ESC key to save the data.
  • Type E to exit the screen.

Signet Report Options Editor

Select Option 3 from the Signet Report Menu allows you to add the lite-ups for AR coatings, SRC coatings, and the lite-ups used to designate the job as a redo job.


  • Type A to add a new record.
    • The Report ID defaults to SIGNET, and editing that name is not allowed.
    • Other fields in this table may also default.
  • Add the applicable group in the Report As field. The list to the right side of the field is the groups required by Shamir.
  • Add the lite-ups need to one of those groups. There may be more than one lite-up in a group. Make an entry for each lite-up separately.
  • Press the ESC key to save the data.
  • Type E to exit the screen.

Vision Ease Report

Select Option 9 – Vision Ease Report from the Manufacturer Report Menu.  It is run the same way as always.

  • To run the report, follow the on-screen prompts entering all the applicable report options.

Hoya Report

Select Option 10 – Hoya Report from the Manufacturer Report Menu.  It is run the same way as always.

  • To run the report, follow the on-screen prompts entering all the applicable report options.

Unity - VSP Report Menu

Select Option 11 – Unity Report Menu from the Manufacturer Report Menu.  The editors are not available at this time. 

  • To run the report, select Option 1 - Unity Report from the Unity Report Manu.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts entering all the applicable report options.

Essilor Digital Report

Select Option 12 - Essilor Digital Report from the Manufacturer Report Menu.

  • To run the report, select Option 1 - Essilor Digital Report from the Essilor Digital Report Manu.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts entering all the applicable report options.
