Introduction

This document provides instructions for using the short-hand order Rx Entry capability in Rx Order Entry

Procedure

From the Optifacts main menu:              

Type Select Option 4 - Order Entry and Press press Enter.

The Tray & Account window displays.

  • At any time within this window, press the F5 function key.

The Command-Line Rx Entry window will displaydisplays.Image Removed

  • Begin typing, and the system will capture and assign values according to the legend at the bottom of the window. The system will default to right-eye values first, but you could type l or L a lower case “l” or capital “L” to begin with left-eye values if you prefer.

For example, you could type:

l-1.25s-.5c66a to achieve the following results:Image Removed

  • When done, press escape to continue with the order process.
  • When finished, press Escape continuing with the order process.

The entire command string that you’ve typed will be gets displayed toward at the bottom of the screen and . In addition, the interpreted results of the command will be get displayed above.  Type as many or as few of the values as you’d like, then touch escape Escape and continue with the order entry process.   The interpreted values will be used as defaults in the traditional order entry screen and will be validated at the time when you pass through each field in the order entry process.   Note that there is no validation done at the time of command-line entry.

Marque-Teinte is a common standard convention used in Europe to assign product descriptions.    It will use the commercial codes that are assigned in the Commercial Code Mapping editor of the Retail Transfer menu (11-15).   There is a document available named Retail Transfer – Commercial Code Mapping that explains this process.   Though it’s common in Europe, it can be equally effective in North America.Note:

The Diameter field of this screen refers to a commercial diameter.   This diameter is typically used only in Europe, where commercial catalog diameters are assigned.   It does not refer to the blank diameter.   It will typically be of little or no value in North America, so you can ignore it if it doesn’t apply to you.
