setting up a feed to the promised jobs report in your internet browser. A Promised Job is any job where the time needed changed from the default. That is how the system recognizes a promised job from any other on the system. This can be done in Order Entry or Optifacts Menu options 7-3 Customer Service.

Procedure

1. Ask your system administrator to make a directory /var/www/html/lab_htm. Link it to $CWD/lab_htm:

ln -s /var/www/html/lab_htm $CWD/lab_htm

2. Administrator to make a directory /var/www/html/RSS. Link it to $CWD/RSS:

ln -s /var/www/html/RSS $CWD/lab_RSS

Custom Configuration

From the Optifacts Main Menu:

Select Option 3 – Editor Utilities and press Enter.

Select Option 6 Configuration Editor and press Enter.

Select Option 6 – Edit Custom Configuration and press Enter.

  • Add the following entry.

Job Status Setup

From the Optifacts Main Menu:

Select Option 11 – Retail Transfer and press Enter.

Select Option 7 – Editor: Job Status Set up and press Enter.

  • Add a record like the following example:

Subscribe to Feed

  • Click on “Subscribe to this feed.” Then click on subscribe:

  • Re-Open your browser and go to Tools-Explorer Bars-Feeds:

  • Select the Promise Jobs feed. On top of the browser, go to Tools-Internet Options. Click Settings under browser history.
  • Under “Check for newer versions of stored web pages,” click: Every time I visit the webpage.

  • Right-click on the feed for Promise_jobs and then click Properties.   Set the archive number to 3 so we don’t keep too many copies of recent updates on the system:

  • Also, click on Settings under Update Schedule. Change to 15 minutes under “Automatically check feeds and Web Slices for updates.”   Doing so will ensure that your browser regularly checks for updates.
