Introduction

This document provides instructions for re-launching an archived job to bring it back into process as a new job.

Note: The setup to allow re-launch must be completed before using this feature. Refer to the Re-Launch Capability Required Setup documentation for full details.

Procedure

Perform a search for the archived job. This can be done through Quick Lookup or Lookup Archive Retrieval, both options have the same functionality. Refer to the Quick Lookup Overview documentation for full details.

From the Optifacts main menu:

Type 7 - Tray Track and press enter.

Type 1 - Quick Lookup and press enter.

Or, Type 15 - Lookup Archive Retrieval and press enter.

Once you have located the job in the tray list: (Example below, tray 4021)

  • Type the letter R and press enter.

You will be prompted to enter Job Re-launch Conditions.

You can choose to re-launch the full pair or a single eye of the pair.

Right eye, Left eye or Both. (R,L,B):

  • Type R to re-launch only the right eye.
  • Type L to re-launch only the left eye.
  • Type B to re-launch both eyes.

Blank Select or use Original Lenses (B/O): It is recommended to let the system run through blank selection especially for digital products to confirm that the correct product is picked.

  • Type B for blank selection.
  • Type O to use the same lenses as were used in the original job.

Note:  If blank selection is chosen, the color used will be the original color used for blank selection at the time the operator originally keyed the job.

Would you like to edit lite-ups (Y/N):

  • Type Y if you would like to edit the lite-ups used on the original job. An example would be 'Supply Frame'. You may want to change that to 'Frame Enclosed' or 'Frame to Follow'.
  • Type N to keep the lite-ups as they were on the original job.

If you selected Y (above) the Lite-up Listing window displays.

  • Enter the lite-up number to turn it off.
  • When done, type 99 to finish.
  • Alternatively, you can press escape to abort the action.

Re-launch Successful

  • Type Y and press enter to continue.

The job will then be released to print like a remote job coming into the system.  The system will ask for a tray number at verify just like a remote job coming in.

Note:  If blank selection is chosen, the color used will be the original color used for blank selection at the time the operator originally keyed the job.

Relaunch Job Does not Print

If you do not receive a ticket and you did not receive an error during re-launch, the re-launch failed during the transfer process.  An error report will print indicating what failed. To find and correct the job you will need to go into Process Received Rx’s.

From the Optifacts Main Menu:

  1. Type 11- Retail Transfer and press Enter.
  2. Type 1 - Process Received Rx’s and press Enter.
  • Select the appropriate job and press Enter.

  • Make the necessary corrections by typing the correct value in the field provided.

In some cases you will want to create a new translation to ensure another re-launched job does not fail.  Once you make the necessary corrections, a ticket will be printed and you can assign a tray at verify.
