Introduction
This document provides instructions for adding equipment to the ports and setting up the programs to run the equipment.
Procedure
It is important to remember that if additional equipment is added to the system, the interface to the Tray Tracking segment must also be added. The equipment will not function without a tracking assignment.
This document is separated into two steps, Custom Configuration for machine interface and Tray Track Assignment for each port within the Optifacts software.
There are two devices that can be used to connect the equipment to the server, Rocketport and Digiboard. The Rocketport uses a physical set of cable to communicate to the server while the Digiboard communicates using TCP/IP. The connector pin outs are different therefore it is important to know which device is being used. Contact Optifacts for the correct pin out for your lab.
Custom Configuration Setup
From the Optifacts main menu:
Type 3 – Editor Utilities and press enter.
Type 6 – Configuration Editor and press enter.
Type 6 – Edit Custom Configuration and press enter.
The Custom Configuration Editor displays.

Add all the custom configurations required for your lab machinery. Contact Optifacts Support for the correct setting for each of the machines in your lab that require interfacing.
- Press Q to Query.
- Ensure that the tables below exist. If the tables do not exist:
- Type A to add a new record.
- Enter all the information as per the example (s) below.
- Press Escape to save the data.
- Type E to exit.
The diagram below is an example of set up required to a run the program for a generator.
Tray Track Assignment for the Ports
From the Optifacts main menu:
Type 7 – Tray Track and press enter.
Type 12 – Tray Track Configuration Editor and press enter.
Type 2 – Sub-master Station Number Setup and press enter.
Add the necessary Sub-Master Stations for each machine port taking care to use the same interface that was used in the custom configuration.
- Press Q to Query.
- Ensure that the tables below exist. If the tables do not exist:
- Type A to add a new record.
- Enter all the information as per the example (s) below.
- Press Escape to save the data.
- Type E to exit.
The diagram below is an example of the sub-master station port set up for a generator.
