Introduction

This document provides an overview on of setting up scanners. Scanners are relatively easy to setupset up. Refer to the document links on the page for each step.  Issue an Optifacts support ticket if your you have any issues or need assistance.

Procedure

PC Scanner

One type of scanner can plug into the back of a PC. These scanners are used by customer service, frame management, verification, mailroom,

and other departments within the lab, wherever there is a PC to connect

it.

Direct Connection Scanner

Another type of scanner uses a DB9 connector and connects directly to the Rocket or Digi Port. It is assigned a unique tray tracking ID.

Use these scanners to communicate with machines such as generators, edgers, or other types of lab equipment.

Symbol Bar Code Scanners

Job Track can have several processes running to monitor Symbol Bar Code Scanners. In order to To enable Symbol Scanners, you will need the following entry. Refer to the Add Lab Equipment to Ports document for full complete instructions.Image Removed
