Setup

Custom Configurations

From the Optifacts main menu:

Select Option 3 – Editor Utilities and press Enter.

Select Option 6 – Configuration Editor and press Enter.

Select Option 6 – Edit Custom Configuration and press Enter.

The Custom Configuration Editor displays.

Press “Q” to Query to ensure that the tables below exist.

If the tables do not exist:

Press “A” to add a new record.
Enter all the information applicable to your lab, as shown in the examples below.
Press Escape to save the data.
Press "E" to exit.

Dome Account

Update the Character Setting for this record to be the account code you will use as your dome account. This will be used in Quick Lookup to see all of the domes and their histories.

Dome Ranges

Dome ranges are the range of tray numbers that get used only for domes. You will want this to be outside the range of tray numbers you currently use at the lab. There are two main configurations: DOME RANGE LOW and DOME RANGE HIGH. Update the below configurations so that the integer settings are the inclusive beginning and ending values for all of your numbered domes.

If you’d like to specify sub-ranges of domes, you can do this similarly with configurations named “DOME RANGE LOW 1” and “DOME RANGE HIGH 1” up to “DOME RANGE LOW 5” and “DOME RANGE HIGH 5”. These must be within the ranges of the main “DOME RANGE LOW” and “DOME RANGE HIGH” configurations.

Dome Lens Count

For each of the above dome ranges, you can define the maximum number of lenses that can fit in a dome. Again, as above, the main configuration is “DOME LENS COUNT,” with the possibility of assigning “DOME LENS COUNT 1” to “DOME LENS COUNT 5” as necessary. Update the integer setting to the maximum number of lenses for domes in each dome range.

Dome Closing Stations (Optional)

When closing a dome (or removing all lenses from a dome after processing them), if you’d like to assign those lenses automatically to a new station, add the below custom configurations. Again, you can expand these to be different for each range of domes. (Note - These must be valid stations defined in the Tray Track Number Setup section of this document.)

Tray Track Station

You need to add a new tray track station called “DOME ASSIGNMENT.” It can be in any header code range, and any station number but must have a description of “DOME ASSIGNMENT.”

From the Optifacts Main Menu:

Select Option 7 – Tray Track and press Enter.

Select Option 12 – Tray Track Configuration and press Enter.

Select Option 2 – Submaster Station Number Setup and press Enter.

The Tray Track Sub-Master Station Number Setup screen displays.

Press “Q” to Query to ensure that the tables below exist.

If the table does not exist:

Press “A” to add a new record.
Enter all the information applicable to your lab, as shown in the examples below. (Note: The master and sub-master station numbers may vary by lab. Refer to your system administrator for the numbers to use.)
Press Escape to save the data.
Press “E” to exit.

Dome Coating Groups

Only one kind of coating can be used on a dome at a time, but an empty dome can be assigned any coating. Multiple lite-ups can indicate the same kind of coating. Once at least one job gets assigned to a dome, you want to restrict any other trays getting assigned to the dome to have the same kind of coating as the first job. To do this, you need defined coating groups for domes. Use the Custom Report Options to define which lite-ups to group on the same dome.

From the Optifacts Main Menu:

Select Option 5 – Report Generators and press Enter.

Select Option 7 – Sales Analysis Reports and press Enter.

Select Option 7 – Custom Report Options and press Enter.

Select Option 2 – Pricing Report Options Editor and press Enter.

The Tray Track Sub-Master Station Number Setup screen displays.

Press “Q” to Query to ensure that the tables below exist.

If the table does not exist:

Press “A” to add a new record.
Enter all the information applicable to your lab, as shown in the examples below. (Note: The master and sub-master station numbers may vary by lab. Refer to your system administrator for the numbers to use.)
Press Escape to save the data.
Press “E” to exit.

Using the Report Identifier of “DOME,” each Report Group is a group of lite-ups that can be included together on the same dome. For example, both “HCC” and “CUSTOM HCC” lite-ups can simultaneously be on the same dome. So, you could create two entries in the rpt_opts table as shown in the following diagrams:

Because they both have the same Report Group, they can be on the same dome.

Procedure

Assigning a Dome

From the Optifacts Main Menu:

Select Option 7 – Tray Track and press Enter.

Select Option 7 – Station Assignment and press Enter.

Enter the new DOME ASSIGNMENT station number.
Enter the Dome Number.

A warning displays if the dome number entered is not within the valid dome ranges.

Otherwise, the maximum number of lenses allowed in the applicable dome range is displayed, and we prompt for the first tray number to assign to the dome.

When the first tray number is assigned, Optifacts searches the rpt_opts table for any matching lite-ups for the job and its functional dome coating group. If it finds one, this assigns the dome to that coating group and displays the coating group on the screen.

All subsequent trays assigned to this dome must have a lite-up in the same dome coating group as the first tray. If the tray’s coating group does not match the dome’s coating group, Optifacts warns the operator and asks if they want to assign it anyway.
