Overview

This workstation allows users in your lab who have appropriate access/permissions to enter a breakage or reverse a breakage to eligible orders in Rx-Universe. The breakage entries are stored in the local database and will be reportable in Rx-Reports using the new Workstations - Breakages target.

You will be required to enter a reason code for the breakage. And depending on your Rx-Universe settings, you can also enter sub-codes for breakages to track department, position, and shift details.

Lastly, there is a separate breakage entry page for Lens Breakage and Frame Breakage for easier navigation.

Required Setup and Configuration

In Rx-Universe:

  • Set up breakage codes.

    •  Create breakage codes for reason (required) and subcodes (optional) department, positions, and shift under Setup -> Breakage Codes.

  • Set up the flag for Breakage Sub Codes.

    • You can set up your Rx-Universe to track breakage sub-codes. There are three flags that you can select to set breakage tracking behaviours.

In Rx-Hub:

  • In Rx-Hub, edit the role of the user you want to grant access to.

  • Grant the role “Use” permissions for Workstation Breakages, Beakage: Lens, Breakage: Frame Item in the Rx-Xplore permissions tab. Make sure you click on the “Update Role” button to save the settings. Learn more about setting up roles.

Entering a Breakage for Lenses

To enter a lens breakage to an order, follow these steps:

  • Take note of the order number of the job you want to enter breakage.

  • Open Rx-Workstations modules.

  • On the side navigation, select the Breakage Enter → Breakage: Lens option (Trash Icon).

  • Search for the order you want to enter Breakge by entering the order number in the text field and clicking on Submit.

  • The order number, tray number, job type, account number, patient, and status of the order should display. If the order does not have information on any of these fields in Rx-Universe, it will show blank text for that field.

If the “Enter reason code when deleting an order” flag is ON:

  • The list of the cancellation/delete reasons will show. This list comes from the “Order Delete Reasons” section in Rx-Universe.

  • You need to select/click a reason button.

  • After selecting a reason, the confirmation dialog will display. Click on Okay, it should proceed with deleting the order. A delete successful message will be displayed.

If the “Enter reason code when deleting an order” flag is OFF:

A message will display upon submission to indicate if the order was deleted successfully in Rx-Universe.

An error message with the failure reason will display if the cancel/delete submission failed.
