A mapping allows you to translate one set of values to another set of values. This is most useful when exporting a CSV file for use in another system.
Example: You wish to import Frames from the Frame Inventory module. The report uses the status Active for frames in use. Your system uses _a
You can “map” the Active status to _a
Any user with the “Column Mapping” permission can set up mappings. If a mapping is in use, then sorts and filers will use the mapped value (_a instead of Active)
