Rx-Universe allows blanks selected for a specific customer to be restricted to only blanks from a certain group of manufacturers. Note that, if using this option, if a job requires a blank that is only manufactured by a specific vendor (as is the case with some digital products), and that vendor is not part of the subset of manufacturers allowed for the customer, blank selection will not be possible.

To configure, select the option “Manufacturer by Customer” from the “Setup” menu. One entry can be set up for each customer, allowing up to 10 manufacturers to be specified. For example, in the following case:

Customer 0001 is configured to select blanks only with manufacturer codes “SOLA”, “ZEIS” and “AO”. Similarly, customer “1” is configured to select blanks only from “SILO”, “KBCO” and “SLC”.

To illustrate, consider a simple SV job as follows:

The list of possible blanks for this job looks as follows:

Because this order was entered for customer 3, who has no restrictions as regards the manufacturer, the list includes all applicable blanks available at the lab.

However, the same job, entered for customer 1, gives the following blank selection list:

Blanks from any manufacturers not in the list for customer 1 are not considered for the job.

As mentioned previously, if a customer is set up such that no blanks are possible, as would be the case with this job for customer 2, blank selection is not possible and the lab will see an error similar to:

  • No labels
