Introduction

This document provides instructions for the process to create a suggested Inventory Parts Order based on short order, usage/min-max.

Procedure

Purchase Advice Report

From the Optifacts Main Menu:

Select Option 12 – Frame Parts Inventory and press Enter.

Select Option 5 – Parts Ordering and press Enter.

Select Option 1 – Purchase Advice Report and press Enter.

If a Parts Order already exists, you see the following message. You would then need to go into 12-5-3 to print the order.

Create a new Parts Order

If a Parts Order does not exist, you see the following:

  • Enter the Warehouse number and press Enter.
  • Order Shorts or Order by Usage/Min-Max (S/U)?
  • Enter “S” to create a Short Order. If “S” is selected, enter the Tray number.
  • Enter “U” to create a Usage/Min-Max Order. If “U” is selected, the system creates an order for the calculated amount needed for Inventory based on the Supplier configuration.

Answer the following question:

  • Create parts order file for editing/printing? (Y/N)
  • If you choose N, then no work file is created, and nothing is changed.
  • If you choose Y, then a work file is created, and the quantity on order is the amount suggested.

You can go into menu 12-5-2 to edit the values before you print the order in the menu 12-5-3.

  •  Also, if you choose “Y.” the period usage is set to 0 and starts accumulating again as adjustments added or sales processed.
