Introduction

This document provides instructions for setting up Message of the Day.

Procedure

Add a Lite-up

From the Optifacts main menu:

Type 3 - Editor Utilities and press enter.

Type 4 - Pricing Database Editor and press enter.

Type 4 - Lite-up Options and press enter.

Type 1 - Add/Edit Lite-up Options and press enter.

The Add/Edit Lite-up Options screen displays.

  • Valid for (G) Glass, (P) Plastic,or  ( * ) Both 

    • Type ( * ) asterisk for both and press enter.

  • Enter the lite-up number that you are going to use and press enter.

The screen will expand displaying the rest of the fields.

  • Enter all the data as shown in the following diagram.

  • Are the Entries Correct (Y/N)?

    • Type Y if correct and press enter

    • Type N to return to the form.

Add Automatic Lite-up

From the Optifacts main menu:

Type 3 - Editor Utilities and press enter.

Type 4 - Pricing Database Editor and press enter.

Type 5 - Automatic Lite-up Options and press enter.

Type 1 - Add/Edit Automatic Lite-up Options and press enter.

The Add/Edit Lite-up Options screen displays.

  • Enter account 0 and press enter.
  • Type Y to add a new entry and press enter.

  • Enter all the data as shown in the following diagram.

  • Are the Entries Correct (Y/N)?

    • Type Y if correct and press enter

    • Type N to return to the form.

Look up the num and bit for the newly created lite-up

You will need to add an entry for the lite-up that you created, and the Field Name must match the lite-up name exactly. You will need to know the num and bit for each lite-up. Run the Pricing Options Available report in menu 11-14 to find the num and bit for each applicable lite-up.

Note: The num and bit must be entered exactly as shown on the Pricing Options Available report.

From the Optifacts main menu:

Type 11 - Retail Transfer and press enter.

Type 14 - Pricing Options Available Report and press enter.

  • Run the report and make a note of the num and bit. In the example below, the num is 31 and the bit is 5.

Setup a Job Data Definition

Refer to the Defining Job Data Definition Fields with Examples document for full details on each field. 

From the Optifacts main menu:

Type 3 - Editor Utilities and press enter.

Type 6 - Configuration Editor and press enter.

Type 7 - Edit Job Data Definitions and press enter.

The Prompt Configuration for Miscellaneous Job Related Data window displays.

  • Type A to add a new record.

  • Enter all the applicable data as per the diagrams below pressing enter past each field.

  • Press Escape to save the data.

  • Press E to exit the screen.

Setup the Job Data Trigger

Refer to the Defining Job Data Triggers document for full details on each field. 

From the Optifacts main menu:

Type 3 - Editor Utilities and press enter.

Type 6 - Configuration Editor and press enter.

Type 8 - Edit Job Data Triggers and press enter.

The Triggers to Cause Prompts for Miscellaneous Job Related Data window displays.

  • Type A to add a new record.

  • Enter all the applicable data as per the diagrams below pressing enter past each field.

    • The message that you want to print is entered in the Default Value field.
  • Press Escape to save the data.

  • Press E to exit the screen.

You Can edit the Default Value to hold the message that you’d like to see on the invoice.  Change this as often as you’d like by editing this record.  You might also add more records that tie to different light-ups (e.g. messages that relate to Anti-Reflect could be tied to the num and bit for the Anti-Reflect light-up.
