Introduction

This document provides instructions for assigning bin locations to lenses.

Use the bin location editor to enter the bin location for your stocked lenses. You can find the Bin Location Entry screen in the Editor Menu off the Lens Inventory Main Menu.

Bin locations, if present, print on the work ticket to show the stock clerk where the lens is in the Inventory room.   The bin locations get sent along with lens orders, and the packing lists get sent back from lens vendors showing those bin locations. Having the bin locations at hand makes the task of putting lens inventory on your shelf quite a bit simpler.

You may enter bin locations for lens products based on any of the lens characteristics. Characteristics can include manufacturer, diameter range, base curve range, add power range, lens style, seg size, lens type, lens color, or even a previous bin location.

Any lenses that match your search display on the screen show you the current values for bin location and the new value you set for the bin location.   If your search has more matches than can appear on the screen simultaneously, the screen clears, and the next matches appear after you accept the changes to the screen.   If you answer No to any display, all previous screens won’t be changed, and your cursor returns to the search form.
