Introduction

This document provides instructions for setting up the custom configuration for the UPS Software Interface.

Procedure

Once enabled, the statements (invoicing) program captures data for the UPS file each time it runs. Any daily invoices or special invoices get added to this file. Also, any General Delivery Notes run for monthly, bi-weekly, or weekly customers get added to this file.

From the Optifacts main menu:

Select Option 3 – Editor Utilities and press Enter.

Select Option 6 – Configuration Editor and press Enter.

Select Option 6 – Edit Custom Configuration and press Enter.

The Custom Configuration Editor displays.

  • Press "Q" to Query.
  • Ensure that the following table exists.

If the table does not exist:

  • Press "A" - Add a new record.
  • Enter all the information as per the example (s) below.
  • Press Escape, to save the data.
  • Press "E" to exit.

The file is created in the $CWD/share/ups_files directory and named: carrierextract.txt. The ups_files directory and carrierextract.txt file get created automatically. Optifacts continues to add to this file if it’s not moved, so an external process must exist to move and consume this file each night after all the invoices have run for the day.
