Introduction

This document provides instructions for assigning a cost to a lens in inventory. 

Lens costs

will

allow you to print inventory valuation reports, produce accurate invoice matching reports for EOE, and breakage from inventory reports showing the cost of lenses broken. Access this option from the Editor Utilities menu option of the Inventory Main Menu.

Some lens vendors

are able to

can provide you with your lens costs on disk or ideally in an excel file.

Optifacts Support staff can help you load these costs quickly and easily. Contact your respective lens representative to see if lens costs are available for you.

Procedure

Adding lens costs to the system is similar to marking lenses as Stocked/Non-Stocked and marking Bin locations. You may search for lens products based on

any of the lenses

any lens characteristics, including manufacturer, diameter range, base curve range, add power range, lens style, seg size, lens type, thickness range, and lens color. Any lenses with SKUs that match your search

  • Enter all lens details, pressing enter Enter after each field to display the specified product. Be as specific as possible. You will not be able to proceed if the information is not entered correctly.

The cost that you enter here is per pair.  The system

will cut

  • Press Escape to exit the screen and return to the Optifacts Lens Inventory Editor Utilities Menu.
