Introduction

This document provides instructions for enabling the Tilt Compensation custom configurations to allow compensation for a progressive prism tilt induced at the blocker.

Procedure

From the Optifacts main menu:

Select Option 3 – Editor Utilities and press Enter.

Select Option 6 – Configuration Editor and press Enter.

Select Option 6 – Edit Custom Configuration and press Enter.

The Custom Configuration Editor displays.

  • Press “Q” to Query.
  • Enter any relevant data and press Escape to perform the search.

If the table does not exist:

  • Press “A” to add a new record.
  • Enter all the information, as shown in the example below.
  • Press Escape to save the data.
  • Press “E” to exit.

Examples:

Below are examples of the entries that you can use. When running a progressive, the ofdemon program looks for entries with the Calling Program field value of “TILT COMP.”

It first looks for an entry with the Field Name of “TYPE-MAT” (the example below is PAN-PX). If found, the value in the Float Setting field is for tilt comp, base up in diopters.

If no it does not find a record found, it searches for Field Name of “TYPE” (the example below is PAN). If found, it uses the float value.

If not found, it searches for the Field Name of “DEFAULT” ( as shown in the example below).

If no records foundit does not find a record, there is no tilt compensation done.
