Introduction
This document provides instructions for assigning, moving, and /or adding bin locations by SKU or product group.
Procedure
From the Optifacts main menu:
Type Select Option 9 - Inventory and press enterEnter.
Type Select Option 1 – Editor Utilities and press enterEnter.
Type Select Option 13 – Bin Location Entry and press enterEnter.
Update Bins by S:
Skus or GSKU or G: Group:
- Type S Enter “S” to assign by SKUs, or G “G” to assign a bin location for a group of product.
By SKU Example:
- Type
- products.
Change Bin Location by SKU
- Enter the option to set the stock status and press enter
- .
- “S” Stocked - Identifies this bin as an inventory stocked
inventory- lens.
N – - “N” Non-Stocked -
This identifies - Identifies this bin as an inventory non-stocked
inventory- lens.
D – - “D” Don’t Change -
This identifies - Identifies that the bin status is not
being changed- changing.
The active cursor will move moves to the SKU# SKU field.
- Type the SKU number and press enter, Enter or scan the SKU number, the field will be populated .
The field populates with the number, and the cursor
will movemoves to the next
field.Thefield—the lens information
will also be showndisplayed in the lower section of the form.
If there is currently a bin assigned to the item, it will be shown gets displayed in the Old Bin Loc field.
- Enter the new Bin Number and press enter.
Save the new location (Y/N)?
- Type Y Enter “Y” to save the data.
- Type N Enter “N” to return to the form. The changes will not be savedwon’t save.
- Press Pressing Escape to exit exits the screen.
By Group Example:
Change Bin Location by Group
- Type Enter the option to set the stock status and press enter.
- S – Stocked. This identifies “S” Stocked - Identifies this bin as an inventory stocked inventorylens.
- N – “N” Non-Stocked - This identifies Identifies this bin as an inventory non-stocked inventorylens.
- D – “D” Don’t Change - This identifies Identifies that the bin status is not being changedchanging.
The active cursor will move moves to the Old Bin Loc field and is , represented by an ( * ) asterisk.
Change Bin Location for
allAll Items in a Specific Bin
To change the bin location for all items in a specific bin to a new bin, perform the following:

changes them all, no matter the design or type. |
- Enter the old bin location and press enter.Enter the new bin location and press enter.
The items in the old bin location will be shown display in the lower half of the screen.
Save the new location (Y/N)?
- Type Y Enter “Y” to save the data.
- Type N Enter “N” to return to the form. The changes will not be saved.Type M to move to the New Location field and manually enter a location for each itemwon’t save.
- Pressing Escape exits the screen.
Change Bin Location for a
specific groupSet Group of Items in a Specific Bin
To change a bin location by entering specific lens data, perform the following:
- Enter the old bin location or leave as the default * and press enter.
- Enter the manufacturer code and press enter
- Enter the applicable data pressing enter after each field.
- Mfr: Enter the desired manufacturer code.
- Style: Enter the desired style code.
- Seg Size: Enter the desired seg size code.
- Mtl: Enter the desired material code.
- Color: Enter the desired color code.
- Type: Enter the desired type code.
- Diam: Enter the desired diameter code.
- X-Thick: Enter 0 if the lens is not extra thick, or enter 1 if the lens is extra thick.
- CT: Enter the lowest center thickness range.
- toTo: Enter the highest center thickness range.
- Base from: Enter the lowest base of the range. Note: If the product is a finished lens, then enter the sphere power from the lowest power to the highest power.
- To: Enter the highest base of the range.
- Cyl. From: Enter the lowest cylinder of the range.
- To: Enter the highest cylinder of the range.
- Add-U from: If the product range includes a product with an upper end, enter the lowest range.
- To: If the product range includes a product with an upper end, enter the highest range.
- Add-L from: Enter the minimum lower add. Note: (Single Vision has no add Add power. For Single Vision, Press Enter twice to move to the Side: field.)
- To: Enter the maximum lower add.
- Side:
- Enter L “L” - left lens only, or
- Enter R “R” - right lens only, or
- Enter B “B” - single vision product only, or
- Leave as the asterisk (*) - all products.
- Enter the new bin location and press enter (alpha or numeric characters, up to 6 digits).
Save the new location (Y/N)?
- Type Y
- Enter “Y” to save the data.
- Enter “N” to return to the form. The changes
- won’t save.
- Enter “M” to move to the New Location field and manually enter a location for each item.
