Introduction
Data Definitions and Triggers offer the flexibility of storing and printing additional information.
The following procedure provides instructions for automating a process where you can select to be prompted to prompt for required information at various stages of a job in processprogress.
Defining job data collection fields is a two-step process:
- Setting up the data collection fields (the information for which you are get prompted);
- Defining the triggers that generate the prompts.
Before you begin, you MUST have already completed the procedure as outlined in the Defining Job Data Definitions document.
If the prompt for required information for which you wish to be prompted is tied to is associated with a lite-up, you must:
- Be sure Ensure that the lite-up is already set upexists, and if not, then set it up.
- Be aware of the num and bit associated with the lite-up.
You will be required to enter this information during the process. Instructions for retrieving these numbers are provided outlined later in this document.
Procedure
Job Data Trigger Setup
From the Optifacts main menu:
Type Select Option 3 – Editor Utilities and press enterEnter.
Type Select Option 6 – Configuration Editor and press enterEnter.
Type Select Option 8– Edit Job Data Triggers and press enterEnter.

Field Definitions
Field Name | Definitions |
---|---|
Account Number | Type the entry to identify whether all or a specific account is to prompt for required information as per the following guideline:

Ship to Code | For accounts that have multiple ship-to locations, use this field to specify the applicable appropriate location. |
Lite-up (num) | If the required information to be prompted is associated to with a lite-up, type the num and press enter. |
Lite-up (bit) | If the required information to be prompted is associated to with a lite-up, type the bit and press enter. |

Account Segment | Type the Account Segment name or number and press enter. |
Acct Sub Segment | Type the Account Sub-Segment name or number and press enter. |
Sales Group | Type the Sales Group name or number and press enter. |
Buying Group | Type the Buying Group name or number and press enter. |
Chain Group | Type the Chain Group name or number and press enter. |
Business Type | Type the Business Type name or number and press enter. |
Field Name | Type the field name as defined in the Job Data Definition Editor and press enter. |
Default Value | Type the default field value and press enter. (Optional) Example: Field Name: [SPECIFY BLOCK R ] |
- Press Escape to save the data.
- Type Press "E" to Exit.
Retrieving the num and bit for a lite-up option.
From the Optifacts main menu:
Type Select Option 11 – Retail Transfer and press enterEnter.
Type Select Option 14 - Report: Price Options Available and press enterEnter.
- Type S Press “S” to view the report on screen.
- Or, type P press “P” to print the report and press enterEnter.
The first number is the num, and the second number is the bit.
- Type Press "E" to exit and return to the Retail Transfer menu.
