Introduction

This document provides instructions for enabling the Commercial Price Feasibility function, which shows Commercial Price details, the total price of the order, entered job data values, and validates the Date Needed against the Estimated Delivery Date of the feasibility screen. The lab must be set up with commercial pricing in the hpa_hcpc table to view and use Commercial Price Feasibility. For the Estimated Delivery Date , to calculate and validate against the Date Needed, the appropriate Estimated Delivery Data calculations must be in place.

Procedure

Configuration

From the Optifacts main menu:

Select Option 3 – Editor Utilities and press enter.

Select Option 6 – Configuration Editor and press enter.

Select Option 6 – Edit Custom Configuration and press enter.

The Custom Configuration Editor displays.

  • Press "Q" to Query the table.

  • Ensure that the table below exists

If the table does not exist.

  • Press "A" - Add a new record.

  • Enter all the information as per the example (s) below.

  • Press Escape , to save the data.

  • Press "E" to exit the screen.

Entering a Job

Selection Option 4 from the Optifacts Main Menu.

  • Enter a job as normal in Order Entry as you usually would.

The Commercial Price Feasibility will display once you pass the Pricing Options.

If the lab uses the Commercial Price Feasibility screen, the quantity shown represents the quantity on hand minus the quantity allocated for previous jobs still in Pick Ticket mode. For example, say there are ten lenses on hand for SKU 1111111111. If two jobs come in where each eye uses that SKU, the quantity allocated is 4. On the Commercial Price Feasibility screen for the next job that uses that SKU, the quantity shows 6 for one eye (10 on hand minus 4 previously allocated) and 5 for the other eye (minus one more that is used by the first eye). If this job is accepted, the quantity allocated is now 6.

Once a job is verified, canceled, or transferred to a different site, the quantity allocated decreases accordingly.

Bulk lens orders do not affect the quantity allocated as these can be filled at any time and perhaps by different warehouses (if the lab configuration supports multiple lens warehouses).

Commercial Price Box

The box underneath Sphere, Cyl, Axis, and other fields in the row, is a scroll-able box with the Commercial pricing broken down by eye. Use the Up and Down Arrow keys to navigate up and down. Doing so allows viewing of the entire contents of the box.

The first line per eye includes the Commercial Code and the Report Description from the hpa_hcpc table for the first LENS pricing entry we found for the eye.

The second line per eye includes the prescription as entered by the operator along with and the diameter and base curve chosen by Blank Selection.

The following lines are the breakdown of Commercial pricing by eye. (The first line with the price for the LENS description up above does not include the lens description again)

  • Price - The Base List price
  • Discount - Any discount that applies to the description, either a percentage or a dollar amount.
  • Net Price - The final price for that description

If there are any discounts from the traditional pricing system such as an Uncut discount, Balance Right/Left discount, Special Discount, or hand-entered amounts, they display as just a Net Price.

The final line shows the final price before tax as calculated during feasibility.

Job Data Box

Pressing 'T' toggles the Job Data window.

The Job Data window is scroll-able if there are more Job Data records than fit in the window.

This window is just for viewing any entered Job Data. No data entry is allowed.

Estimated Delivery Date (EDD)

If an Estimated Delivery Date gets calculated, it checks against the Date Needed entered in Order Entry. If the EDD calculates to be after the Date Needed, the Estimated Delivery Date displays in bold and is followed by three exclamation points to alert the operator. Otherwise, otherwise it displays as normal.

For example, the Date Needed is Thursday, but the calculated EDD is Friday.
