Add/Edit Dependent Lite-ups

Using this option will allow you to add new or edit existing dependent Lite-up options. The dependent Lite-up options differ from automatic Lite-up options in the method used to determine when to toggle a Lite-up on or off. Dependent Lite-ups depend upon the status of another Lite-up to determine if other Lite-ups should be toggled on or off. It is possible to use dependent lite-ups together with automatic Lite-ups to form endless configurations.

Dependent Lite-ups work with the ON or OFF status of another Lite-up. If the Lite-up exists in this database, and the status of the Lite-up matches the status listed in this database, then the dependent Lite-up will assume the status listed in this database. An example: If Lite-up #3 (METAL EDGE) is ON, toggle Lite-up #2 (ZYL EDGE) OFF. In this fashion, you could create numerous entries to turn off any other edging Lite-ups if Lite-up #3 gets toggled ON.

It is possible to have separate Lite-ups for glass and plastic sharing the same Lite-up number since only one of them needs to be displayed at a time. However, you cannot use automatic and dependent Lite-ups in conjunction with these Lite-up numbers in such a situation.

You must use a Lite-up number for both plastic and glass materials when creating dependent Lite-up options. If you use a Lite-up number with different glass and plastic materials descriptions, unpredictable results will happen.

Select Option 6- Dependent Lite-up Options and press Enter.

Select Option 1 - Add/Edit Dependent Lite-up Options and press Enter.

Add a New Dependent Lite-up

You will specify if the Lite-up will be “O” for on or “F” for off for the dependent Lite-up action when adding an entry. Then, enter the dependent Lite-up number, and specify if you want it to be toggled on or off, based upon the condition of the first Lite-up number. If you wish to change several Lite-ups based upon the status of a Lite-up, you may create more entries with the same Lite-up number, toggling the status of different dependent Lite-up numbers.

Enter the dependent Lite-ups you want to use.  You can use any combination of three different Lite-ups to either turn on or off one particular Lite-up.  In the example above, if the Lite-up SOLID COLOR or UV400 is on, we want TINT/COAT CMNTS to turn on.

In the first Lite-up number field:

  • Enter the Lite-up number.
  • Enter the On (O) or Off (F) flag.
  • Enter 0 (zero) in Indicate OR - or 1 (one) to indicate AND. (You must make an entry in this field, but it will not apply if no Lite-up number is set in the next Lite-up number field.)

In the second Lite-up number field:

  • Enter the Lite-up number.
  • Enter the On (O) or Off (F) flag.
  • Enter 0 (zero) in Indicate OR - or1 (one) to indicate AND. (You must make an entry in this field, but it will not apply if no Lite-up number is set in the next Lite-up number field.)

In the third Lite-up number field:

  • Enter the Lite-up number.
  • Enter the On (O) or Off (F) flag.
  • Enter 0 (zero) in Indicate OR - or 1 (one) to indicate AND –. (You must make an entry in this field, but if if you don’t set a Lite-up number in the next Lite-up number field, it will not apply.)

In the Dependent Lite-up Number field:

  • Enter the Lite-up number.
  • Enter the On (O) or Off (F) flag.

You then get prompted to confirm the entries. Are the entries correct (Y? N)?

  • Press “Y” if correct.
  • Press “N” to edit.
  • Press Escape to exit.

Here is the sorting the system will do when it looks at the records in the table.  It starts with the specific account and ship-to combination along with the largest priority number. Next, it moves to the account 0 items with the highest priority number down to entries with no priority number.  If entries have no priority number, the program sorts by the smallest to largest entered num and bit.  An entry might have no priority number if the entry existed before the new programs get installed.
