Introduction

This document provides instructions for placing a job on hold using

job data definitions. This allows an order entry operator to use a lite-up to place a job on a soft hold. The job can still be entered

a tray track station. You can still enter the job and the lenses produced, but it will

be stopped

stop at the mailout station. Once the stations get set up, the lab can use the Station Assignment screen to put a job on hold without recalling it in Rx Order Entry.

Procedure

Step 1 - Setup Hold Job Lite-up

You must set up the lite-up, job definition, and trigger before you can use this process to place a job on hold. Refer to Hold Job Setup using a Lite-up, Job Data Definitions and Triggers document for setup instructions.

Procedure

Setup Sub-master Tracking Station

From the Optifacts main menu:

Type 3 - Editor Utilities Select Option 7 - Tray Track and press enterEnter.Type 4 - Pricing Database Editor

Select Option 12 - Tray Track Configuration and press enterEnter.

Type 4 - Lite-up Options and press enter.

Type 1 - Add/Edit Lite-up Options and press enter.

The Add/Edit Lite-up Options screen displays.

  • Type an * (asterisk) in the Valid for Glass, Plastic, Both field and press enter.
  • Type the Lite-up number and press enter. (This is the lite-up number that you see on the pricing options screen in order entry.)

The rest of the screen will be displayed.

  • Enter all the data as shown in the following diagram, pressing enter past each field.
  • Are the entries correct (Y/N)?
    • Type Y to confirm
    • Type N to return to the form.
  • Press escape to exit.

Step 2 - Setup a Job Data Definition

From the Optifacts main menu:

Type 3 – Editor Utilities and press enter.

Type 6 – Configuration Editor and press enter.

Type 7 – Edit Job Data Definitions and press enter.

The Prompt Configuration for Miscellaneous Job Related Data window displays.

Step 2 - Retrieving the num and bit for the lite-up option.

From the Optifacts main menu:

Type 11 – Retail Transfer and press enter.

Type 14 - Report: Price Options Available and press enter.

The report will be view-able on screen is you selected S or printed if you selected P.

  • Find the num  and bit for the 'HOLD JOB' lite-up. It will be used in the next step of this process.

Step 4 - Setup a Job Data Trigger

From the Optifacts main menu:

Type 3 – Editor Utilities and press enter.

Type 6 – Configuration Editor and press enter.

Type 8– Edit Job Data Triggers and press enter.

  • Type A to add a new record.
  • Enter all the applicable data as per the diagram below pressing enter past each field.

Note: The num and bit for each lite-up is different. Make sure to run the Pricing Options Lite-up report as described in Step 3 to find the correct values.

  • Press Escape to save the data.
  • Type E to Exit.

    Select Option 2 - Sub-Master Station Number Setup and press Enter.

    The Sub-Master Station Number Setup screen is displayed.

    • Press “Q” to query.

    Search for the sub-master station numbers or descriptions as determined by your system administrator.

    • Enter the predetermined number in the master station number field, or enter the predetermined number or description in the appropriate fields.
    • Press Escape to show the results.

    If the entries do not exist:

    • Press “A” to add a record.

    The Master Station must be set up before adding a Sub-Master Station. Refer to the Master & Sub-Master Station Setup document for complete details.

    • As shown in the diagram below, enter the information using the correct lite-up number for “HOLD JOB.” Lite-up numbers vary by lab. Make sure you are using the correct lite-up number.
    • Press Escape to save the data.

    You may set up several hold stations. For example, you can create different sub-master stations using a different station number and description but point them all to the same ‘HOLD JOB’ lite-up.

    Example:

    The station number and description are different from the one created above but also point to lite-up number 124.

    Once the stations are set up, the lab can use the Station Assignment screen to put a job on hold without recalling it in Rx Order Entry. Refer to the Station Assignment Process document for details.
