Introduction
This document provides instructions for manually adjusting the minimum and maximum lens inventory quantity, override the automatic system calculation, and running the Min/Max Update.
Switching to Min/Max stocking methods requires that your system has at least three months of valid EOE/inventory history stored. You typically switch to this system one vendor at a time to maintain a perpetual inventory that reflects your usage history.
Procedure
Min/Max Manual Adjustment

If you change the Min/Max setting to Manual, Optifacts won't calculate based upon average usage, and re-orders based only upon the Manual Min/Max values entered. |
From the Optifacts main menu:
Select Option 9 - Inventory and press Enter.
Select Option 1 – Editor Utilities and press Enter.
Select Option 5 – On-Hand Min/Max Changes and press Enter.
Search by SKU #
- Enter “S” to search by SKU number.
- Enter or scan the SKU number.
The item details populate on the screen.
Search by Description
- Enter “D” to search by Description.
- Enter all relevant item details.
The system searches based upon the input. If found, the item details display on the screen.
Change Quantities
- Press Enter until you get to the Min-Stock Quantity field.
- Enter the new minimum quantity.
- Enter “M” in the Min-Stock Override field to manually control the quantity.
- “M” Manual, to control the minimum stock level manually.
- “C” Computed, to control the quantity based upon usage history.
- Enter the new maximum quantity.
- Enter “M” in the Max-Stock Override field to manually control the maximum quantity.
- “M” Manual, to control the maximum stock level manually.
- “C” Computed, to control the quantity based upon usage history.

Are all the data correct? (Y/N)
- Enter one of the following options.
- “Y” Yes, to save the data.
- “N” No to return to the form.
- Press Escape to exit the screen and return to the Optifacts Lens Inventory Editor Utilities Menu.
Min/Max Update
The following are instructions for updating the minimum and maximum stock levels and running the on-hand quantity report.
If you make any changes to Min/Max, you should run the Min/Max Update. We advise that you run the update weekly or at least monthly.
Procedure:
Coming soon.....From the Optifacts main menu:
Select Option 9 - Inventory and press Enter.
Select Option 3 – Inventory Procedures and press Enter.
Select Option 2 – Min/Max Update and press Enter.
The following message displays:
- Enter “Y” to update the minimum and maximum stock levels.
- Enter “N” to exit the screen without updating the minimum and maximum stock levels.
