Introduction

This document provides general instructions for setting up custom configurations.

Custom configuration are used to:

  • Configure Equipment Interfaces.
  • Enable Special Optifacts Features.
    • Some of the features have settings or limits as part of the configuration.

Optifacts uses many custom configurations for various functions and processes. For specifics pertaining to interface, tracking, and other Optifacts custom configurations, please refer to other documentation pertaining to said specifics, contact Optifacts Support by phone  or open an Optifacts Support Ticket for assistance. 

Procedure

From the Optifacts main menu:

Type 3 - Editor Utilities and press enter.

Type 6 - Configuration Editor and press enter.

Type 6 – Edit Custom Configuration and press enter.

The Custom Configuration Editor displays.

  • Press Q to Query to search if the table you are looking for exists.
  • If the table does not exist:
    • Type A to add a new record.
    • Enter all the information as required.
      • Calling Program - Name of the program being called to use this configuration. (i.e. STARTUP, TRACK, LAYOUT, EOE, DAEMON, GEN INTRFC, GENERATOR, INVENTORY, TRALLAR, etc.)
      • Field Name - Is unique, but some configurations must start with a prefix such as INTERFACE or other.
      • Enabled (Y/N) - Y
      • Character Setting - Optifacts program and interface port information
        • Note: Port settings vary by lab. Check with your lab administrator, manager or support for the correct port numbers.
      • Float Setting - Enter applicable data, such as a lite-up num or other dependent on the type of configuration.
        • Note: Settings vary by lab and dependent on what is being configured. Check with your lab administrator, manager or support for the correct values.
      • Integer Setting - Enter applicable data, such as a lite-up bit or other dependent on the type of configuration.
        • Note: Settings vary by lab and dependent on what is being configured. Check with your lab administrator, manager or support for the correct values.
      • Comment  - Description of the interface
    • Press Escape to save the data.
    • Type E to exit.
