Introduction
This document provides instructions on how on how to set up the manufacturer configuration screen for individual manufacturers. The Manufacturer Configuration is an expansion of the general configuration and may be entered for any or all manufacturers. Use this option to further control your inventory (by manufacturer) with supporting criteria. The manufacturer configuration will override the general configuration. Any fields left blank will default to the general configuration.
Procedure
From the Optifacts main menu:
Type 9 - Inventory and press enter.
Type 1 – Editor Utilities and press enter.
Type 10 – Physical Inventory Menu and press enter.
Type 2 – Manufacturer Configuration and press enter.
The Manufacturer Configuration screen displays.
- Manufacturer's Code.
- Up to 3 characters, alpha/numeric. Manufacturer code as defined in Optifacts. To view all manufacturer codes, use menu 5-3-8 Mfr Names Reports.
- Purchase by Usage or by Min/Max computation (U/M)?
- U – Order by usage only.
- M – Order by using Min/Max.
Note on Purchasing: Unless you have all the manufactures using Min/Max, you can't order just shorts or purchase advise separately. The only option is a combination (Both) when ordering. Refer to the Purchase Order documentation for full details on processing orders.
- Enter the number of days to compute the minimum stock.
- 9 characters, numeric. Enter the number of days minimum supply to keep on hand.
- Ordering Cycle in days.
- 9 character, numeric. Enter the number of days between normal ordering cycles. If weekly enter 7 days. This entry determines the maximum stock quantity in min/max update.
- Min/Max Computation Code.
- 1 character, alpha. Defaults to A (only option available).
- Press Escape to save the data.
- Type E to exit.
