Customer and/or Auto Addons - This setting controls the placement of the customer and auto addons within the Addon list. They can be placed at the beginning or end of the addon list.

Copy Manual Addons on Remakes - When checked, this setting will copy the manual addons from the original order to be copied to the remake job.

Patient PD - This setting controls the patient PD when it’s entered on an order. The allowable entries are:

  • Zero PD not allowed - Orders will require a patient PD

  • Zero PD allowed - Allows the entry of a zero PD for all orders.

  • Zero PD allowed, except Full Service - Allows the entry of a zero PD for uncut jobs while requiring a PD for Full Service jobs.

Lower PD Breakpoint - This setting is used in conjunction with the PD Upper Breakpoint.

  • When the orders PD is less than this breakpoint, the value is considered decentered

  • When the orders PD is equal to or greater than the breakpoint, but less that the Upper breakpoint, the entry is considered to be a monocular PD.

  • When the order PD is greater or equal to the Upper breakpoint, the entry is considered to be a binocular PD

Upper PD Breakpoint - This setting is used in conjunction with the PD Lower Breakpoint.

  • When the orders PD is less than the Lower breakpoint, the value is considered decentered

  • When the orders PD is equal to or greater than the Lower breakpoint, but less that this breakpoint, the entry is considered to be a monocular PD.

  • When the order PD is greater than this breakpoint, the entry is considered to be a binocular PD

NPD Default Difference - This setting is the default difference between the monocular PD and the near PD. Enter a value between 0 and 5.

Allow PD NPD Difference above range - For bi-focal Rx, the difference between the PD and NPD is limited to 5 mm, the same limit applied to PD’s entered monocular or binocular. This has been changed to allow the difference to be 10 mm for binocular PDs.

In this option, if checked, the system will bypass the range limit and can continue with the order. If unchecked, the system will not proceed unless the values are corrected within an acceptable range.

Allow zero cylinder axis - When Checked, users will be able to enter a cylinder axis of zero in Order Entry.

Use manual Tint/Treat in selection - When checked, this will use the Tint & Treatment from lenses picked manually on the O/E stock screen to set the tint & treatment fields used for auto selecting. This will result in pricing being done automatically for these lenses if the prices are present for the tint and/or treatment.

When unchecked, the program will work like it did in the past. The codes will not be copied and the automatic pricing will not be done.

Allow zero DBL to be entered - When checked, this will allow for a zero DBL value to be entered on the order screen. A zero DBL will also be allowed when sent in a remote order packet.

Breakage Sub Codes - This setting determines if the breakage code sub fields of Department, Position, Reason and Shift are used when entering or reporting breakages. The various settings are as follows:

  • Use breakage sub fields - Activates the use of breakage sub fields

  • Do not use breakage sub fields - Deactivates the use of breakage sub fields

  • Validate reason code only - This setting is used to validate the reason code entered on breakages when sub codes are not used.

Per Diopter Increments - This setting will allow over power pricing. The valid entries are “Quarter”, “Half” or “Whole” diopters

B Frame Increment - This value contains the number of millimeters that will be added to the frame A measurement to give a default B measurement. This is typically used when a doctor orders an uncut job and only supplies the A measurement. The allowable range is from -99 to +99 millimeters.

ED Frame Increment - This value contains the number of millimeters that will be added to the frame A measurement to give a default ED measurement. This is typically used when a doctor orders an uncut job and only supplies the A measurement. The allowable range is from -99 to +99 millimeters.

Lap Rounding - This setting controls the rounding factor that will be used when calculating the proper lap to use for the job.

The allowable selections are 0.01, 0.062, 0.10, 0.125 or 0.25 diopters. Note that the 0.062 value is really 0.0625 or 1/16 diopter. The most commonly used value is 0.125 diopters.

Uncut Defaults - No information within Rx-Universe.

Print PROP65 message on invoice - Per California's proposition 65, polycarbonate lenses sold within the State of California require a notice on the invoice stating that the product is known to cause cancer and/or birth defects.

The text field here is set to a default phrase, but this can be changed by the lab. Note that it is the labs responsibility to ensure the message printed meets any legal responsibility of the lab, so checking with legal counsel in California might be prudent.

To have the message print on all orders with a polycarbonate lens for all customers, check the appropriate checkbox here.

Other options include “1.74 lens warning” and “Frame warning”
