After selecting the frame, the dimensions and pattern will populate below.  If using generic box measurements, populate the eye, bridge, A, B, ED, and DBL boxes.  If using a trace, the option to get a 2D or 3D preview of the lenses exists.

Lens Selection

Lens Selection - This section allows you to specify/force some conditions for the blank to be selected.

  • Manuf: Specify for each Eye which manufacturer only should be considered during blank selection (Ex YOU, SILO, etc.)

  • Base Curve: Force for each Eye which base curve you want to use during blank selection (Ex 0500, 0250, etc.). If this is used the tolerances to build a list of possible blank options are 0.05 for Exact, 0.35 for Approx and 0.75 for Marginal.

  • Diam: Force for each Eye which size/diameter you want to use during blank selection (Ex 75, 60, etc.).

  • Thick: Specify a special thickness code to be selected Ex T, N)

  • Lab Choice, Force Finished and Force Semi-Finished: Lab Choice is set by default, will pick the blanks according to the system settings of the lab for blank selection. Force Finished/Semi-Finished will set to pick only Finished or Semi-Finished accordingly.

F9/Do Calcs – after populating all necessary fields above, the last step before saving the entry, is to perform calculations.  Pressing the F9 button on the keyboard, or F9/Do Calcs button in RX Universe will command the system to select optimal blanks, and tools needed to execute the job. After pressing the button, a “Performing Calculations” message will appear, and when successfully executed; the optimal lenses will be shown as indicated below.
