Interfaces

Manufacturers Novar and Rodenstock have been added as digital vendors option (version 6.39.00).

The size of the LNAM on the lens style has been increased from 15 characters to 40 characters (version 6.39.00).

...

Handling of lenticularization / edge blending for IOT designs has been enhanced.  Any IOT design that contains "_L" in the LNAM will allow entry of the "Blend Diam / Bowl Size" on the F12 screen (previously this was implemented only for designs that contained "_LP" in the LNAM) (version 6.39.00).

Also for IOT designs, a problem where decentration for digital SV designs was not being sent to IOT in the LDS file has been corrected (version 6.39.00).

If an error message LMS file does not include the JOB= line (as with Hoya digital), the filename is used to determine the job number, and the job updated accordingly (version 6.39.00).

The option "Send complete path in LDPATH" had no effect for Zeiss or Essilor jobs (because multiple files can be returned for different devices).  This has been corrected (version 6.38.05).

For Crossbows jobs, the CRIB and ELLH labels are not sent in the LDS file, except for uncuts with no frame measurements.  This will cause Crossbows to calculate the CRIB/ELLH based on the design and decentration required/configured, and Crossbows will return this to the LMS in the LMS file (version 6.39.00).

If CRIBFMT is sent to a device, then do not send CRIB or ELLH.  Some devices do not properly give precedence to CRIBFMT (version 6.39.00).

For Zeiss digital, Zeiss sends verification tickets which must be printed and sent to the ECP with the finished job.  This ticket can be printed at the time of shipping, or on-demand.  A new option has been added to allow the lab to automatically print the Zeiss verification ticket when the work ticket is printed from the digital calculator. If this checkbox (found on the Digital tab in System Parameters) is checked, the Zeiss ticket will be automatically printed when the work ticket is printed by the digital processor (version 6.39.00).

For Zeiss digital verification tickets, a new option has been added to use the "shell" option when calling the PDF print routine to print PDF verification tickets.  If Zeiss PDF tickets are not printing correctly (missing information), check this option on the Digital tab (see above)  (version 6.39.00).

When digital calculators sent back CRIB and ELLH as non-integer values, the values were being truncated instead of rounded, which could result in slightly smaller cribbed blanks than desired.  This has been corrected (version 6.39.00).

For Essilor Digital jobs, new options have been added to trigger sending of device-specific information to specific devices.
In the Essilor packet, device-specific data can be sent for the VFT generator, for example.  This device-specific data is bounded in the LMS file by "_LDCRYPT" and "_/ZZENCRYPT" labels; for example:

_LDCRYPT=DEO:VFT;R;393
_ZZENCRYPT=DO=B
JOB=VS3
AVAL=12.53;12.53
LDCRYPT=0;0
LDTYPE=2;2
SVAL=6.33;6.33
CRIB=75.90;75.90
ELLH=75.90;75.90
GAX=73.00;73.00
SBEV=1.00;1.00
LMATID=26;26
RNGH=3.00;3.00
BLKD=40.00;40.00
_/ZZENCRYPT

On the "Device" tab of the Digital Type setup are new checkboxes, allowing the lab to control if certain labels contained within the device-specific sections should be used for devices:

In the above example, the BLKD, RNGH, SVAL and AVAL values will be sent to the VFT generator from the VFT data.  All other devices will be sent the data either contained in the standard part of the LMS file, or sent from the regular settings (version 6.39.00).

Device Interfaces

If CRIBFMT is sent to a device, then do not send CRIB or ELLH.  Some devices do not properly give precedence to CRIBFMT (version 6.39.00).

When calling a trace on a finish blocker, if the trace existed as an “orphan trace” (no corresponding order), the trace was not being sent to the blocker.  This has been corrected (version 6.39.00).

Order Entry

Some labs prefer to select the blanks that will be used for a job before the job is entered.  A new option has been added to Rx-Universe to make this easier.

First, labs which prefer this method should select the new option on the System Parameters, Order1 tab, called "Select lenses by OPC":

...

If the user wants Rx-Universe to do blank selection for a particular job (for example, for Essilor or Zeiss digital), they can uncheck the "Select by OPC" box, and select the lens style, material, etc., and allow Rx-Universe to select the best blank to use.

When entering angles for wrap compensation (on the F12/Surf Opt screen), the upper and lower limits for the angles were not always being used from the lens style.  This has been corrected (version 6.39.00).

Work Ticket

The CRIB and ELLH are now printed on the work ticket, with the graphic of the frame:

...

Pressing it will prompt for the chart number to import.  To import chart "ZS", for example, enter "ZS"; you will be shown any materials for which the chart already exists on your system, and which exist on the OSI web server. Note that the import will NOT over-write any charts which already exist on the local system.  If you wish to replace existing charts, you will need to remove those charts from your system first.

System Parameters

Lens data and program updates have been moved to a cloud-based server.  The server root name and location are automatically updated on the "General" tab in System Parameters.

The new server is "omics.dnsalias.com" - it can also be accessed using IP address 50.62.44.31.

A new option has been added for blank selection on the “Blank Selection” tab in System Parameters:

When “Select only in-stock lenses” is selected, only blanks with inventory will be considered at all.  This means a special-order or out-of-stock blank will never be selected (version 6.39.00).
