Microsoft did not make a WinHlp32 program available with Windows10Microsoft is no longer supporting the WinHlp32 program in "Windows 10", and the version for "Windows 8.1" won't install in Windows 10. We have found a way around this issue, follow the step below to install this feature on your system.
To install WinHlp32 in Windows10:
1) Go to http://www.komeil.com/download/1230 and Windows 10 and download the file
2) Unzip the file into a folder
3) Edit the install.cmd file, and add these lines to the settings area in the install file (it clearly says settings)
set WindowsVersion=7
goto :BypassVersionError
4) Save the install.cmd file
5) Run install.cmd as administrator
Now you have winhlp working in windows 10 !by clicking on this link → WinHelp.exe
- Run the winhelp.exe (You don’t need to right click and select “run as admin” since I added that in the installation)
- You will get this screen
- Just click on “install"
- If the installation goes through correctly, you should get this screen below (Installation of WinHlp32 has successfully……)
- If you get an error you should get this one below (Error statement **Error installing WinHlp32** The installation…….)
Now you should have winhelp working in windows 10!
