Introduction:
This document provides instructions for entering Tax Percentages by Material as well as the set-up for processing Credits using the old tax rates.
Procedure:
Tax Percentages by Material
From the Optifacts Main Menu:
Type 1 – Accounts Receivable and press enter.
Type 3 – Other Routines and press enter.
Type 6 – Add/Edit Tax Tables and press enter.
- Type in the tax table code you wish to change and press enter.
The entries will display along with the Beginning and Ending dates.
If a new entry is to be made, first the existing entry with the latest ending date must be edited. The existing date must be edited first because when a new one is added, the beginning date of the new one is 1 day after the ending date of the old one.
- Type E to edit and make the change to the Ending Date.
- Press Enter through all of the fields to save the data.
To add a new entry:
- Type ‘A’ to add an entry and press enter.
- The Beginning Date will default to 1 day after the Ending Date of the previous entry.
- The new Ending Date can be a date far out into the future and can be edited if there is a new tax rate change.
Set-up for Credit at old tax rate (Optional):
From the Optifacts Main Menu:
Type 3 – Editor Utilities and press enter.
Type 6 – Configuration Editor and press enter.
Type 6 – Edit Custom Configuration and press enter.
- Type A to Add a new entry (Enter the custom configuration exactly as shown in the following diagram.)
- Press Escape to save the data.
From the Optifacts Main Menu:
Type 3 – Editor Utilities and press enter.
Type 6 – Configuration Editor and press enter.
Type 7 – Edit Job Data Definitions and press enter.
- Type A to Add a new entry (Enter the Job Data Definition exactly as shown in the following diagram.)
- Press Escape to save the data.
