Order Entry

Display of 3D lens is now available for digital designs which are calculated using SDF data for the surface point format (basically, all vendors except for some designs from Essilor and Zeiss.  Indo designs cannot be displayed because Rx-Universe does not have access to the encrypted surface point files) (version 6.50.00).

When using SV prism options "Grind to move OC by decentration" or "Grind to move OC", in some cases minus prescriptions could be calculated using double the fining allowance specified on the material entry.  This has been corrected (version 6.50.00).

Electronic Order Entry

A new method of routing jobs to printers has been added; an option now exists for jobs that contain comments to be routed to a different printer.  This can be used when incoming jobs contain free-text comments which must be read by a person before allowing the job into production. This is set up on the "Remote", "Remote Order Parameters" screen (version 6.50.00):

MES Interface

The MES interface has been changed to separate the ORDER and JOB processes; separate LDI files (listing the VCA labels to be sent for each process) can now be set up for each job station. Logging of transfers has also been enhanced, tracking more steps in the transfer process, making it easier to trouble-shoot when there are questions about the transfers (version 6.50.00).

Printing Of Additional Documents For Orders

In addition to work tickets, labs may wish to print additional documents for an order.  Rx-Universe now supports the printing of additional documents, created with the LOHreport program, in several different automated and manual modes.  For complete details, please see

Addons

The "Job Flow" and "VCA Overrides" tabs on addons are now always available, whether the Rx-Track module is active or not.  This allows addons to be flagged as tints (or other services), which is necessary for proper determination of SBF codes for Essilor digital.  The VCA Over-rides tab allows specific VCA values to be set for addons (ACOAT for coatings, etc) (version 6.50.00).

Device Interfaces

The Micro-Blocker is now supported as an interfaced device, as well as being a non-interfaced device.  If interfaced, the prism from the selected block is sent as KPRVM, and any remaining prism sent to the generator as GPRVM.  To enable this, the blocker must be set up as a Micro-Blocker in the device setup screen: (version 6.50.00).

Essilor Digital designs use the "__FREEBLANK" label as a non-chiral field to indicate that a design is free-blank; Rx-Universe now also supports "_FREEBLANK" as an indicator of a free blank design (_FREEBLANK is the preferred label for Essilor moving forward) (version 6.50.00).

Topography Data for Aspheric Lenses

Rx-Universe has long had the ability to specify a particular topography (also called sagitta data or sagitta height) for semi-finished blanks.  The same ability is now available for aspheric lenses that are not progressives (aspheric SV, aspheric flat tops, super-modular lenses, etc).  For complete details, please see

Miscellaneous

California’s proposition 65 warning also applies to NXT lenses.  Changed invoice format # 99 and stock invoice format # 99 to handle this (version 6.49.01).

A "Filter by" flag has been added to the lens style screen, allowing the user to view just active designs, designs for a specific digital vendor, or all designs (version 6.50.00):
